"Vraj's Inspiring Journey: From Village Barber's Son to Aspiring MBBS Doctor with KRSF's Support and Determination"

"I secured 65 percent in the tenth standard. I dreamed of becoming a doctor, but how could I become a doctor with such a low percentage? My village is Vadoth in Sabarkantha. My dad works as a barber. He didn't have much money required to spend on my education to make me a doctor. I worked hard in 11th and 12th standard and secured 88 percent in 12th grade. I also got 397 marks in the NEET exam. With these results, I could have become an Ayurveda doctor, but I wanted to be an MBBS doctor. So, I decided to take a gap year and prepare for NEET again. I was determined to succeed, and in the second round, I secured 531 marks. As a result, I was admitted to the medical college in Gandhinagar. But by the time I complete my studies, I will need to pay fees of Rs. 45 lakhs. Where will I get such a large sum of money?

As a child, I was disappointed and wondered why we didn't have any money during that time. However, I believed that with strong determination and pure intentions, God would help us. I vividly remember seeing my grandfather undergoing treatment at Ahmedabad Civil Hospital. I realized that without the care he received there, he wouldn't have survived. This experience motivated me to pursue a career in medicine and to serve in a government hospital, to help many patients like my grandfather. My determination to achieve this goal was so strong that Mittalben from my village informed my father about the Dr. K. R. Shroff Foundation. She said it would help your Vraj. After that, we met Pratulbhai Shroff and Udaybhai Desai. They listened to my story and helped me pay my fees.

Thanks to the Foundation, I can study MBBS. How many people in this world help so selflessly? I have also made a decision. I will help another person like me become a doctor. I will be even happier if there will be more than one. At the very least, I will repay my debt to the organization by helping at least one person become a doctor."

Vraj's visit to the KRSF office was truly inspiring. He shared his incredible journey with us, The organization's mission is to positively impact the lives of millions of children. It's incredibly fulfilling to be able to play a role in making the dreams of children like Vraj a reality.

"દસમા ધો.માં 65 ટકા આવ્યા. સપનુ તો ડોક્ટર બનવાનું જોયું. પણ આટલા ટકા એ ડોક્ટર કેવી રીતે થવાય?
મારુ ગામ સાબરકાંઠાનું વડોથ. પપ્પા હજામ નું કામ કરે. એમની પાસે એવા ઢગલો રૃપિયા નહીં કે મારી પાછળ એ ખર્ચે ને મને ડોક્ટર બનાવે. મે કમર કસી ને 11,12 ધો.માં ખુબ મહેનત કરી. બારમાં ધો.માં 88 ટકા ને નીટની પરીક્ષામાં 397 માર્કસ આવ્યા. આર્યુવેદ ડોક્ટર બની શકાય પણ મારે એમબીબીએસ થવું હતું. મે ડ્રોપ લીધો ને નીટની પાછી તૈયારી. મારુ લક્ષ નક્કી હતુ. બીજી વારમાં 531 માર્કસ આવ્યા. ગાંધીનગરમાં મને મેડીકલમાં એડમીશન મળ્યું. પણ મારો અભ્યાસ પૂર્ણ થાય ત્યાં સુધીમાં મારે નહી નહીં તોય 45 લાખ ફી પેટે ભરવાના થાય.. આટલા પૈસા ક્યાંથી લાવું...
હું નિરાશ થઈ ગયેલો.. એ વખતે કેમ અમારી પાસે પૈસા નહીં એમ પણ થયું. પણ કે છે ને તમારો નિર્ધાર પાક્કો હોય ને એ નિર્ધારનો આશય શુદ્ધ હોય તો ભગવાન મદદ કરે. મે નાનપણમાં મારા દાદાને અમદાવાદ સિવીલમાં સારવાર લેતા જોયેલા. સિવીલ ન હોત તો મારા દાદા ન બચત. એ વખતે ડોક્ટર બનવાનું નક્કી કર્યું ને સરકારી હોસ્પિટલમાં સેવા આપવાનો નિર્ધાર કર્યો. ખાસ તો દાદા જેવા અનેક દર્દીની સારવાર કરી શકુ એ માટે.. આ નિર્ધાર માં પવિત્રતા હતી એટલા મારા ગામના મિત્તલબેને મારા પપ્પાને ડો.કે.આર.શ્રોફ ફાઉન્ડેશન વિષે વાત કરી અને એ તમારા વ્રજને મદદ કરશેનું કહ્યું.
એ પછી અમે પ્રતુલભાઈ શ્રોફ, ઉદયભાઈ દેસાઈને મળ્યા ને મારી વાતો સાંભળી એમણે મારી ફી ભરવા મદદ કરી. 

આજે હું MBBS ભણી રહ્યો છું તો ફાઉન્ડેશનના પ્રતાપે.. નિસ્વાર્થભાવે આવી મદદ કરનાર આ દુનિયામાં કેટલ? મે પણ નિર્ધાર કર્યો છે. મારા જેવા એક વ્રજને તો મારી જેમ ડોક્ટર બનાવીશ. એકથી વધુ થાય તો રાજી થઈશ પણ એકને બનાવીને સંસ્થા પ્રત્યેનું ઋણ હું અદા કરીશ..."

Jethipura is a cheerful village of Sabarkantha and more cheerful is its primary school. The school flourished under the guidance of Acharya (principal) Vijaybhai. School teachers are very noble. Shaping the future of children is a constant endeavor. The teachers’ vacancy in the school was filled by KRSF by placing Kinjalben.

Kinjalben takes life class in school. Life class signifies shaping a cultured life along with education. KRSF has developed different modules of life class. There are topics about instilling confidence in children to cultivating cultural values. Some of the students from our Kinjalben's life class met our Pratulbhai. We felt worthwhile to conduct life classes after listening to these kids' narratives.

When Nusrat, studying in school, broke something in the house and if there was no one around, she

would lie that she did not break it. We know that not only kids but adults have the same attitude. But

Kinjalben had taught everyone in class not to lie. Later, it happened that Nusrat broke something in

house. She picked up broken pieces together and told her mother that she broke it. Nusrat was afraid

that mother would start scolding her, but, on the contrary, her mother praised her for telling the truth.

A similar case happened with Akhlaq. He had a bad habit of eating tobacco. A topic of choice between

good and evil is taught in class. Realizing this lesson, he quit tobacco and came to class, admitted and said that tobacco was not the right choice. Tamannaa had habit of exaggerating things. Once this habit led to a big fight in the house. She realized her mistake and left that habit. Some said they got over their fear of ghosts by watching the film Makadi in class.

Hearing all these things from children's mouth reminded us that Gandhiji always stressed on proper upbringing. We also focus on cultured upbringing. Somehow or other, kids are going to find a way to get education. They will become a doctor or an engineer but that education is of no use if they do not

become a good citizen of the country. That is why KRSF emphasizes much on life class.

Currently 50,000 children are being taught by the foundation. We are proud of this achievement and

likewise we aspire to reach many more children in future.

''ધ લાઇફ ક્લાસ'': વિદ્યાર્થીઓને જીવનના પાઠ આપતા શિક્ષક

સાબરકાંઠાનું જેઠીપુરા મજાનું ગામ ને એથીયે મજાનીગામની પ્રાથમીકશાળા. આચાર્ય વિજયભાઈની નિશ્રામાં શાળા ફળીફુલી. શાળાના શિક્ષકો ઉમદા. બાળકોનું ભાવિ ઘડવા એ સતત મથ્યા કરે. શાળામાં શિક્ષકોની ઘટની પૂર્તી KRSF એ કિંજલબેનને મુકીને કરી. 

કિંજલબેન શાળામાં લાઈફ ક્લાસ લે. લાઈફ ક્લાસ એટલે ભણતરની સાથે જરૃરી ઘડતર કરવાનું કામ..

KRSF એ લાઈફ ક્લાસના અલગ અલગ મોડ્યુઅલ ડેવલોપ કર્યા. જેમાં બાળકોમાં આત્મવિશ્વાસ જગાવવાની વાતથી લઈને સંસ્કાર સિંચનની વાતો કરવામાં આવે. અમારા કિંજલબેને લીધેલા લાઈફ ક્લાસના વિદ્યાર્થીઓમાંથી કેટલાક વિદ્યાર્થીઓને અમારા પ્રતુલભાઈ મળ્યાને બાળકોએ જે વાતો કરી તે સાંભળીને અમને  લાફઈ ક્લાસ કર્યાનું લેખે લાગ્યું.

શાળામાં ભણતી નુસરતના હાથે ઘરમાં કોઈ વસ્તુ તુટી ફુટી જાય ને આસપાસમાં એ દરમ્યાન કોઈ હોય નહીં તો એ આરામથી પોતે નથી તોડ્યું એવું જુઠ્ઠુ બોલી જતી. બાળકો શું મોટાઓનું પણ આવું જ વર્તન હોય. પણ કિંજલબેને વર્ગમાં જુઠ્ઠુ ન બોલવાની શીખ આપેલી તે એ પછી નુસરતના હાથે તુટેલી વસ્તુને લઈને એણે એની મમ્મીને પોતાનાથી વસ્તુ તુટ્યાનું કહ્યું, નુસરતને હતું કે વઢ પડશે પણ એની મમ્મીએ સાચુ બોલ્યાની શાબાશી આપી.

આવો જ કિસ્સો અખલાકનો થયો. એને પડીકી ખાવાની ટેવ પડી ગયેલી. ક્લાસમાં સાચી ખોટી પસંદગી વિષય ભણાવવામાં આવે. એનાથી એણે પડીકી છોડી ને ક્લાસમાં આવીને પડીકી સાચી પસંદગી નહોતી એ કહ્યું. તમન્નાની આદત વાત ને વધારીને કહેવાની એનાથી ઘરમાં એક વખત મોટો ઝઘડો થયો. એને એની ભૂલ સમજાઈ ને એણે એ આદતન છોડી. કેટલાકે મકડી ફીલ્મ ક્લાસમાં જોઈને ભૂતની બીક ભાંગ્યાનું પણ કહ્યું..

બાળકોના મોંઢે આ બધી વાતો સાંભળી ગાંધીજી હંમેશા કેળવણી પર ભાર આપતાનું યાદ આપ્યું. અમે કેળવણી પર ધ્યાન આપીયે. ભણવાનું તો બાળકો કરી લેશે. ડોક્ટર એન્જીનીયર બની જશે પણ એ દેશના સારા નાગરિક નહીં બને તો એ ભણતર કશા કામનું નહીં. માટે KRSF લાઈફ ક્લાસ પર ઘણો ભાર આપે..

હાલમાં સંસ્થા દ્વારા 50,000 બાળકોને ભણાવાઈ રહ્યા છે. જેનો રાજીપો છે ને ઈચ્છા અનેક બાળકો સુધી પહોંચવાની છે..

Not only Shivani was irregular in school, she was also not much interested in studying. Seeing that one child from the whole class is not much interested in learning, teachers first try a little to improvise but if the effort does not succeed much, they stop to follow it up.

In Shivani's case, teacher Harshidaben could have put the efforts away. But the ethics of the organization, because of which she was teaching children in Jaalampur school of Meghraj in Sabarkantha stopped her from quitting. KRSF works to meet the shortage of teachers in government schools. Harshidaben was also placed in Jaalampur school to fill the gap. Seeing Shivani's absence and indifference towards education, she went to Shivani's home.

The financial condition of the family was in a state of despair. Parents do very hard menial labor. This

situation prevented her parents to pay even a little attention to Shivani. Harshidaben embodied the

organization's motto, ''Child First'' in her work style. She tried to get Shivani to attend school regularly.

Then she started preparing her for the exam so that Shivani could get a scholarship given by the foundation to economically weaker children every month. Shivani also liked the idea that the teacher herself took interest in her development. She passed the exam and started getting monthly scholarship from the foundation. Harshidaben told Shivani's parents that if they wanted this scholarship to continue, Shivani would have to pass the exam conducted by the foundation every three months and they would

have to see that she worked hard for that.

This was the financial support to the family in the form scholarship. This encouraged parents to pay

attention to Shivani. Harshidaben was, of course, there with them. With shared effort, Shivani now

performs at the top of her class. She intends to study further and make a good progress. Shivani's

parents also now share this dream.

Our intention behind giving scholarship is to bounce back the bright children, who were indifferent towards education, to study with mindful aptitude. Our purpose appears to bear fruits after seeing more than 150 children like Shivani getting the help through scholarship...

શિક્ષકની ખુશીની ક્ષણ જ્યારે વિદ્યાર્થીઓની અનિયમિતતાનો અંત આવે અને તેઓ નિયમિતપણે વર્ગમાં આવવાનું શરૂ કરે 

શિવાની નિશાળમાં અનિયમીત. ભણવામાં પણ ઝાઝી રૃચી નહીં. સામાન્ય રીતે આખા વર્ગમાંથી એક બાળકને ભણવામાં રૃચી ન હોવાનું જોઈને મોટાભાગે શિક્ષકો થોડો પ્રયત્ન કરે પણ એ પ્રયત્નમાં સફળતા ન મળે તો મુકી દે..  શિવાનીના કિસ્સામાં પણ શિક્ષીકા હર્ષિદાબહેન એને મુકી દેવાનું કરી શક્યા હોત. પણ એમનું મન એ જે સંસ્થા વતી સાબરકાંઠાના મેઘરજના જાલમપુર નિશાળમાં બાળકોને ભણાવતા તે સંસ્થાના સંસ્કારે એમને એમ કરતા રોક્યા.

KRSF સરકારીશાળાઓમાં શિક્ષકોની ઘટની પૂર્તીનું કામ કરે. હર્ષિદાબેન પણ એ ઘટપૂર્તીના ભાગરૃપે જ જાલમપુરની નિશાળમાં મુકાયા. શિવાનીની ગેરહાજરી શિક્ષણ પ્રત્યે ઉદાસીનતા જોઈને એ શિવાનીના ઘરે ગયા. ઘરની આર્થિક સ્થિતિ એક સાંધતા તેર તુટે એવી. મા-બાપ કાળી મજૂરી કરે. શિવાની પ્રત્યે એમનું ખાસ ધ્યાન પણ નહીં. 

હર્ષિદાબહેને સંસ્થાનું સૂત્ર બાળક પ્રથમ એને બરાબર પોતાની કાર્યશૈલીમાં ઉતારેલું. એમણે શિવાનીને નિયમીત શાળામાં લાવવાનો પ્રયત્ન અને એ પછી ફાઉન્ડેશન દ્વારા આર્થિક રીતે નબળા બાળકોને દર મહિને સ્કોરશીપ આપવામાં આવે તે સ્કોલરશીપ શિવાનીને મળે તે માટે પરિક્ષાની તૈયારી કરાવવાનું શરૃ કર્યું.

શિવાનીને પણ શિક્ષિકા એનામાં રસ લે એટલે મજા પડી. એ પરિક્ષામાં પાસ થઈ અને સંસ્થા દ્વારા એને માસીક સ્કોલરશીપ મળવાની શરૃ થઈ. હવે હર્ષિદાબહેને શિવાનીના માતા પિતાને આ સ્કોલરશીપ કાયમ જોઈતી હોય તો શિવાનીએ દર ત્રણ મહિને સંસ્થા દ્વારા લેવાતી પરિક્ષા પાસ કરવી પડશે અને એ માટે એમને મહેતન કરાવવી પડશેનું કહ્યું. 

સ્કોલરશીપ રૃપે ઘરમાં ટેકો થઈ રહ્યો હતો. એટલે મા-બાપે પણ શિવાની પર ધ્યાન આપવાનું શરૃ કર્યું. જ્યારે હર્ષિદાબહેન તો સાથે હતા જ. સહિયારી પ્રયાસથી શિવાની હવે એના વર્ગમાં અવ્વલ નંબરે પાસ થાય છે. એને ભણીને ખુબ આગળ વધવું છે. વળી આ સ્વપ્ન શિવાનીના મા-બાપ પણ સેવવા માંડ્યા.

સ્કોરશીપ આપવા પાછળનો અમારો આશય પણ શિક્ષણ પ્રત્યે ઉદાસીન થયેલા હોંશિયાર બાળકોને પાછા મન લગાવીને ભણતા કરવાનો.. અમારો આશય શિવાની જેવા 150 થી વધુ બાળકો સ્કોલરશીપની મદદ મેળવતા જોઈને બર આવ્યો હોય એમ લાગે.

''We, women, normally take good education. But we don't always think of getting our own foothold after studying. After getting married, if the family is wealthy or if husband comfortably makes good money, we immediately prefer/accept to take care of the household. In a way, this looks right. But

circumstances don't stay the same forever. Same situation arose in my life too.''

Jagrutiben, who works as a supplementary teacher of KRSF in a primary school in Chitrodigaam,

Sabarkantha, said this with a tongue in cheek. When we asked her to speak openly, she said:

''I completed my MA in 2002. I was married into a middle class family. Farming was small but I was rearing cows and buffaloes and we had enough to run household comfortably. We were blessed with two children. The elder son is disabled. He needed a lot of attention and we did that. We were happy enough. But five years back I was diagnosed with breast cancer and we were panicked. I barely survived cancer. But then, my husband died of a heart attack.

After recovering from cancer, I could not take care of cows and buffaloes. My husband did cultivation on our small farm but it was not enough to meet ends, so he worked outside jobs. Somehow, it was enough to run household. But after his departure, I was totally responsible for the family. Farming was thin, it was not enough to support the household. I did not have anyone to turn to. I broke down. I was educated but had not worked! What to do was a dilemma. I even thought of suicide!’

‘Then I heard the news of teachers’ requirements in KRSF. I applied for the position. But it was now 21 years after leaving education. I did not remember anything. When I went to take the exam, I talked to

Nishaben, the organization member, and other staff. Seeing my condition, they inspired me to be

courageous. They prepared me for the exam required to join the organization. Of course, I passed, but

permanent job was not guaranteed even after passing the exam. I had to take exams repeatedly. I had

to do everything to prepare me to improve the education of the children whom I had to teach. I was

very confused.''

While narrating her story, Jagrutiben expressed her gratitude to Pratulbhai Shroff, the founder of the

KRSF organization, for giving her a job in the organization. She was very emotional while talking. And of course, it was really an emotional situation. The organization gave her a reason to live, who was disappointed with life. Besides, it solved the problem of livelihood too. We can say, Nishaben and Kalpeshbhai, the workers of the organization, instilled courage in Jagrutiben. Nishaben said, ''after listening to her, we started thinking of what we can do. If given a job in an institution out of kindness, she would take things granted. As a result, she would not excel in the children education. In this situation, remembering our organization's values ​​of self-development and compassion, we worked for the self-development of Jagrutiben. We were able to help because she herself was compassionate enough.''

This type of understanding of Nishaben is overwhelming….. Proud to have such a wonderful team with us. Reverend Pratulbhai blessed her, putting his hand on Jagrutiben's head and asked her to work with commitment. Jagrutiben felt very relaxed after Pratulbhai's blessings. When we were leaving Chitraodi School, Jagrutiben said, ''Every woman should take education and should work too. You don't have idea when the time will change, but if you are working, you will survive in tough times.’

In my opinion, every woman should think about this. We are happy knowing she is settled now.

શા માટે સ્ત્રીઓએ સ્વતંત્ર અને બુદ્ધિશાળી હોવું જોઈએ: અમારા શિક્ષકના આ વ્યક્તિગત અનુભવે કર્યું સાબિત

'આપણે સ્ત્રીઓ ભણી તો લઈએ. પણ ભણ્યા પછી પગભર થવાનું હંમેશાં વિચારતા નથી. લગ્ન થઈ જાય ને પરિવાર સુખી હોય કે પતિ સરખુ કમાઈ લે તો આપણે તુરત ઘર સંભાળવાનું સ્વીકારી લઈએ. એક રીતે આ બરાબર પણ લાગે. પણ સમય કાયમ એક જેવો ન રહે. મારા કિસ્સામાં પણ એમ જ થયું.'

સાબરકાંઠાના ચિત્રોડીગામની પ્રાથમિક શાળામાં KRSF ના પૂરક શિક્ષિકા તરીકે કામ કરતા જાગૃતિબહેને જરા મોઘમ વાત કરતા આ કહ્યું. અમે ખુલીને વાત કરવા કહ્યું ત્યારે એમણે કહ્યું,

'મે MA 2002માં પુરુ કર્યું. મારા લગ્ન મધ્યમવર્ગીય પરિવારમાં થયા. ખેતી નાની પણ હું ગાયો ભેંસો રાખતી ને ઘરનું ગુજરાન ચાલતું. બે બાળકો થયા. એમાં મોટો દિકરો દિવ્યાંગ. એના પર ખુબ ધ્યાન આપવું પડે અને અમે એ કરતા. સુખ હતું. ત્યાં પાંચ વર્ષ પહેલાં મને બ્રેસ્ટ કેન્સર થયું ને હાલાકીની શરૃઆત થઈ. માંડ માંડ કેન્સરમાંથી હું ઊગરી. ત્યાં મારા પતિને હાર્ટ એટેક આવ્યો ને એ આ દુનિયામાંથી ગયા. 

કેન્સરમાંથી ઊગરી ગયા પછી મારા થી ગાયો ભેંસોનું કામ થતું નહોતું. મારા પતિ અમારી નાની ખેતી સંભાળે પણ એમાં પુરુ ન થાય એટલે એ સાથે નોકરી કરે. પણ ઘર એનાથી ચાલી જતું. પણ એમના ગયા પછી પરિવારની જવાબદારી મારા પર આવી. ખેતી પાતળી એમાં ઘરનો ગુજારો ન થાય. હું ભાંગી પડી. ભણેલી હતી પણ કામ કર્યું નહોતું એટલે શું કરવું એ મૂંઝવણ. આત્મહત્યાનો વિચાર આવ્યો. ત્યાં KRSF માં શિક્ષિકાની નિમણૂક કરવાના સમાચાર મળ્યા. મે અરજી કરી. પણ ભણતર છોડ્યાને 21 વર્ષ થયા કશું યાદ નહોતું. પરિક્ષા આપવા ગઈ એ વખતે સંસ્થાના કાર્યકર નિશાબહેન અને અન્ય સ્ટાફ સાથે વાત થઈ એમણે મારી સ્થિતિ જોઈને હિંમત આપી. સંસ્થામાં જોડાવવા આપવી પડતી પરિક્ષાની તૈયારી કરાવડાવી. ને હું પાસ થઈ. 

પણ પરિક્ષા પાસ કરે નોકરી કાયમી થવાની નહોતી. મારે સતત પરિક્ષા આપવાની. જે બાળકોને મારે ભણાવવાના હતા તેમનું ભણતર ઉત્તમ થાય એ બધુ કરવાનું હતું. બહુ મંઝાયેલી હતી.'

જાગૃતિબહેને પોતાની વાત KRSF સંસ્થાના સ્થાક પ્રતુલભાઈશ્રોફને સંસ્થામાં નોકરી આપવા બદલ આભાર વ્યકત કરતા કહી. વાત કરતા કરતા એ ભાવુક થઈ ગયા. ભાવુક થઈ જવાય એવી સ્થિતિ હતી. જીવનથી હતાશ થયેલા એમને સંસ્થાએ જીવવાનું કારણ આપ્યું સાથે આજીવિકાનો પ્રશ્ન હલ કર્યો.

જાગૃતિબહેનમાં હિંમત ભરવાનું કામ સંસ્થાના કાર્યકર નિશાબહેન અને કલ્પેશભાઈએ કર્યું. નિશાબહેન કહે, 'જાગૃતિબહેનની વાત સાંભળી અમે શું કરી શકીએ વિચાર આવ્યો. દયાભાવથી સંસ્થામાં નોકરી આપી દઈએ તો એ જે બાળકોને ભણાવે એમાં ઉત્તમ ન કરી શકે. આવામાં અમારી સંસ્થાના મૂલ્યો સ્વવિકાસ અને સંવેદનશીલતા બેયને યાદ કરી જાગૃતિબહેનના સ્વવિકાસ માટે અમે કામ કર્યું. ને સંવેદના હતી એટલે જ અમે મદદરૃપ થઈ શક્યા.'

નિશાબહેનની આ સમજણ પ્રત્યે ઓવરી જવાય. આવી મજાની ટીમ અમારી સાથે હોવાનું ગૌરવ.. 

આદરણીય પ્રતુલભાઈએ જાગૃતિબહેનને મન લગાવી એકદમ નિશ્ચિત થઈને કામ કરવાનું એમના માથે હાથ મુકી કહ્યું. 

જાગૃતિબહેને પ્રતુલભાઈએ માથે મુકેલા હાથથી હાશ ને સાથે હળવાશ અનુભવી. અમે જ્યારે ચિત્રોડીની નિશાળમાંથી નીકળી રહ્યા હતા ત્યારે જાગૃતિબહેને કહ્યું, દરેક સ્ત્રીએ ભણવું જોઈએ અને ભણ્યા પછી કામ પણ કરવું જોઈએ. સમય ક્યારે બદલાઈ જાય એ ખબર પડતી નથી પણ કામ કરતા હોઈએ તો કપરા સમયમાં ટકી જવાય.

મારા ખ્યાલથી દરેક સ્ત્રીએ આ વાત વિચારવી જોઈએ અમને આનંદ જાગૃતિબહેનની જીંદગી થાડે પાડી શક્યાનો... 

Embracing the Spirit of Yajna: Dr. K.R. Shroff Foundation's Commitment to Service

Yajna holds immense significance in our religion. Gandhiji eloquently defined, "Yajna is any deed performed selflessly, without expecting anything in return in this world or the next. Yajna is karma that brings well-being to more beings in various aspects. Witnessing such actions inspires others to carry out similar deeds, thereby serving more people and beings. I believe that this type of karma is a profound and noble yajna."

This definition of yajna resonated with us. The Dr. K.R. Shroff Foundation conducts numerous service activities on its own. However, in many of these activities, just like Suchishravaa, everyone holds NAADAACHHADI and participates in the process of offering a coconut to the fire. This is one kind of process to perform the Yajna. Meaning everyone participates in performing a noble act. 

Sadvichar Parivar is a well-known institute in Ahmedabad. It was decided to construct a building so that various health-related facilities and various social activities could be organized by the institute.

The Dr. K. R. Shroff Foundation participated in the construction of this building. The Dr. K. R. Shroff Sewasadan will be launched and dedicated to the public on 12th October 2024, which is Vijayadashami day. An invitation is being sent to share the message of being instrumental in the welfare of thousands and millions of beings.

યજ્ઞનું આપણા ધર્મમાં ઘણું મહત્વ. ગાંધીજીએ યજ્ઞની બૃહદ વ્યાખ્યા આપતા કહેલું, 'યજ્ઞ એટલે આ લોકમાં કે પરલોકમાં કંઈ પણ બદલો ઈચ્છ્યા વગર પરાર્થે કરેલું કોઈ પણ કર્મ. જે કર્મ થકી વધારે જીવોનું વધારે ક્ષેત્રમાં કલ્યાણ થાય. વળી એવું કર્મ જેને જોઈને એવું જ કાર્ય વધારે મનુષ્ય સહેલાઈથી કરી શકે ને એનાથી વધારે લોકો કે જીવોની સેવા થાય. આ કર્મને હું મહાયજ્ઞ અથવા સારામાં સારો યજ્ઞ માનુ'

યજ્ઞની આ વ્યાખ્યા અમારા મનમાં બરાબર બેસી ગઈ..

Fulfilling Dreams Together: KRSF's Annual Convention Highlights

 'Through you, we are fulfilling the dreams we have set. My wealth is being used in an orderly manner for a good cause. Thank you all for joining us...'

At our annual convention, Pratulbhai Shroff addressed over 1000 members of KRSF. Udaybhai, the president of the organization, also discussed the Anganwadi worker who teaches children in a tribal village near Udaipur. He highlighted her dedication to her work, emphasizing that she diligently teaches the children every day without supervision. He encouraged the team by sharing how she prepares herself daily to teach new things to the children. 

All members of KRSF gathered at Himmatnagar in Sabarkantha. KRSF works to educate 82,000 children in over 1200 villages across 17 districts. Although not all team members working with children meet regularly, everyone comes together at the convention to discuss passionately with each other what they are doing. Also, everyone comes to understand the wide and varied scope of the organization.

At the convention, there were dedicated workers of the organization associated with KRSF for the last ten years. 50 workers who are devoted to the organization were honored. While receiving the honor, everyone was beaming with pride to be a part of an organization that works with a noble cause.

Some of the teachers and the team leader from the attending team shared their experiences of how their lives changed after joining KRSF. Pratulbhai is a successful businessman. He made resolutions and set goals in business. Similarly, in KRSF, he set goals with the team, the most important of which was to be instrumental in the welfare of 500,000 children in the next five years.

Sanjaybhai, who works as a team leader, said that after joining KRSF, his honor in the village and society has increased. He had experienced unemployment for a long time. But life has changed after the organization took hold. As the organization sets goals, Sanjaybhai also set some goals in his personal life, out of which he happily said that the goal of owning a house has been completed.

The convention lasted the entire day. Participants engaged in extensive discussions and shared their experiences. They also played various games to enhance teamwork. Finally, after playing Garba, everyone bid farewell with a promise to meet again in a year.

A single person, Pratulbhai, had a dream and found a strong partner in Udaybhai, along with a whole team to help fulfill that dream. Thirteen years ago, they planted a small plant called KRSF, which has now grown into a banyan tree, bringing welfare to millions of lives.

God showers wealth on many, but if everyone learns to use it for a noble cause in this way, many sufferings in the world can be reduced to a great extent, if not completely eliminated.

Praying that God makes everyone instrumental in everyone's enlightenment.

'તમારા થકી અમે નક્કી કરેલા સ્વપ્નો પૂર્ણ કરી રહ્યા છીએ. મારી સંપત્તિ નો યોગ્ય ઉપયોગ થઈ રહ્યો છે. તમે સૌ અમારી સાથે આવ્યા એ માટે તમારા સૌનો આભારી છું...'

અમારા પ્રતુલભાઈ શ્રોફે અમારા વાર્ષિક સંમેલનમાં ઉપસ્થિતિ KRSF ના 1000 થી વધારે સાથીઓને સંબોધતા આ કહ્યું. સંસ્થાના પ્રમુખ ઉદયભાઈએ પણ આપણે કેવી નિસબત કેળવવી જોઈએ તેની વાત કરતા ઉદયપુર પાસેના એક આદિવાસી ગામમાં બાળકોને ભણાવતી આંગણવાડી કાર્યકરની વાત કરી. એના કાર્યને દરરોજ કોઈ જોતુ નહોતું પણ એ એનું કર્મ એ પણ નિષ્ઠા સાથે કરી રહી હતી ને બાળકોને નવું નવું શીખવવા પોતે રોજ સજ્જ થતી હતી તેની વાત કરી ટીમને ઉત્સાહીત કરી..

સાબરકાંઠાના હિંમતનગરમાં  KRSFના તમામ સાથીઓ ભેગા થયા.  KRSF 17 જિલ્લાના 1200 થી વધારે ગામોમાં 82,000 બાળકોના શિક્ષણ અર્થે કાર્ય કરે. બાળકો સાથે પ્રવૃત તમામ ટીમના સભ્યોનું નિયમીત મળવાનું ન થાય. પણ સંમેલનમાં સૌ મળે ને એકબીજા સાથે પોતે શું કરી રહ્યા છે તેની ચર્ચા કરે. વળી સંસ્થાનો વ્યાપ કેટલો એ પણ સૌને ખ્યાલ આવે.

સંમેલનમાં  KRSF સાથે પાછલા દસ વર્ષથી સંકળાયેલા સંસ્થાના સંનિષ્ઠ કાર્યકરો આમ તો સંસ્થાને વરેલા 50 કાર્યકરોનું સન્માન થયું. સન્માન લેતી વખતે સૌના મોંઢા પર પોતે એક શુભ આશય સાથે કાર્ય કરનારી સંસ્થાનો હિસ્સો બન્યાનું ગૌરવ ઝળકતુ હતું.

ઉપસ્થિતિ ટીમમાંથી કેટલાક શિક્ષકો, ટીમલીડરે  KRSFમાં જોડાયા પછી પોતાના જીવનમાં શું ફેર પડ્યો તે અનુભવો કહ્યા.
પ્રતુલભાઈ વ્યવસાયીક રીતે સફળ ઉદ્યોગપતિ. વ્યવસાયમાં એમણે જે રીતે સંકલ્પો કર્યા, લક્ષ નિર્ધારીત કર્યા એ રીતે  KRSFમાં પણ એમણે ટીમ સાથે રાખીને લક્ષ નક્કી કર્યા. જેમાંનું સૌથી અગત્યનું આવનારા પાંચ વર્ષમાં 5 લાખ બાળકોના શુભમાં નિમિત્ત બનવાનું નક્કી કર્યું.

ટીમ લીડર તરીકે કામ કરતા સંજયભાઈએ કહ્યું,  KRSFમાં જોડાયા પછી ગામમાં, સમાજમાં એમનું માન વધ્યું છે. બેકારીનો અનુભવ એમણે લાંબા સમય સુધી કર્યો. પણ સંસ્થાએ હાથ પકડયા પછી જીવન જ બદલાઈ ગયું. સંસ્થા જેમ ગોલ સેટ કરે એમ સંજયભાઈએ વ્યક્તિગત જીવનમાં પણ કેટલાક લક્ષ નક્કી કરેલા જેમાંના ઘરનું લક્ષ પુરુ થયાનું એમણે હર્ષભેર કહ્યું.

સંમેલન આખો દિવસ ચાલ્યું. સૌએ ખુબ વાતો કરી અનુભવો શેર કર્યા. ટીમવર્ક મજબૂત થાય એ માટેની વિવિધ રમતો રમી ને છેલ્લે ગરબા રમી વર્ષ પછી ફરી મળીશુંના વાયદા સાથે સૌ છુટા પડ્યા...

એક વ્યક્તિએ એટલે કે પ્રતુલભાઈએ એક સ્વપ્ન સેવ્યું ને એ સ્વપ્ન પૂર્ણ કરવા ઉદયભાઈ જેવા મજબૂત સાથી ને પછી તો આખી ટીમ મળી. તેર વર્ષ પહેલાં  KRSF રૃપી નાનકડો છોડ વાવ્યો જે આજે વટવૃક્ષ બન્યો ને એના થકી લાખો જીવોનું કલ્યાણ થઈ રહ્યું છે..
સંપત્તી ઈશ્વર ઘણાને આપે પણ આ રીતે સદઉપયોગ કરવાનું પણ સૌ શીખી જાય તો દુનિયાના ઘણા દુઃખો દૂર નહીં તો ઓછા ચોક્કસ કરી શકાય...
કુદરત સૌને સૌના શુભમાં નિમિત્ત બનાવે તેવી પ્રાર્થના...

From Adversity to Inspiration: Gajendrabhai's Journey to Teaching

 "If it is transcribed to live, then no circumstances can kill me. But the question is how do I choose to live...Studying engineering, I embarked on a trip with friends only to encounter a life-altering accident, resulting in a month and a half spent in a coma. During this time, I was privy to the poignant conversations between my family and the medical team, igniting a fervent desire to embrace life once more."

"As I slowly emerged from a coma, I was met with a jarring revelation - no one knew I could hear. To my dismay, the doctor suggested taking me home, claiming there was nothing more that could be done. How could I convey my desperate desire to get up and move?"

"Eventually, I started working on myself, and slowly my body started to cooperate. I became vigilant, and my family thrived. However, I was unable to walk. I worked on that too. Look, today I am standing in front of you."

Gajendrabhai, who aspired to join KRSF as a teacher, told us his story during his interview. We select teachers to teach students well. During an interview, along with the education of a person, we try to understand his/her life struggles and then choose as a teacher.

Here, Gajendrabhai was a live example of the proverb, "God helps those who are courageous." (God helps those who help themselves). He was good at teaching, and he passed our exam. He was selected for our team because we were sure that stories of his life struggles would inspire children, too.

Now he teaches children at Kadiyaadara Primary School in Sabarkantha. Gajendrabhai miraculously nurtures the children of his classroom who are frustrated by minor things. He says, ''I have defeated the death with my courage. Nothing is impossible in the world.. Just tell the children what you have experienced and let the children grasp the motivation behind it.''

Gajendrabhai was looking for the meaning of his life in philanthropic work and we became instrumental in it...

We are proud to have a teacher like Gajendrabhai...

'જીવવાનું લખ્યું હશે તો કોઈ પણ સંજોગો મને મારી નહીં શકે પણ સવાલ કેવું જીવવું તે હતો.. હું એન્જીનીયરીંગ ભણતો હતો. ભાઈબંધો સાથે પ્રવાસે ગયો ને ભયંકર અકસ્માત નડ્યો. હું કોમામાં જતો રહ્યો. દોઢ મહિનો હોસ્પીટલમાં. કશી ભાન-સાન નહીં. પણ ધીમે ધીમે કોમામાં હતો તે દરમ્યાન મને મારા પરિવારજનોની ડોક્ટરની વાતો સંભળાવવા માંડી. હું કોમામાંથી બહાર આવી રહ્યો હતો. પણ કોઈને હું સાંભળી શકુ છુ એ વાતનો ખ્યાલ નહોતો. આવામાં ડોક્ટરે ઘરે લઈ જઈને સેવા કરો. હવે કશું નહીં થાય એવું કહ્યું.. આ સાંભળીને મને ધ્રાસ્કો પડ્યો. પણ હું કેવી રીતે સમજાવું કે મારે ઉઠવું છે...

આખરે મે મારા પર કામ કરવાનું શરૃ કર્યું ને ધીમે ધીમે મારુ શરીર પણ મને મદદ કરવા લાગ્યું. હું સંપૂર્ણ જાગૃત થયો. પરિવાર હરખાયો. પણ ચાલી નહોતો શકતો. એના પર પણ કામ કર્યું. ને જુઓ આજે હું તમારી સામે છું.'

KRSF માં શિક્ષક તરીકે જોડાવવાની ઈચ્છા રાખનાર ગજેન્દ્રભાઈએ તેમના ઈન્ટરવ્યુ વખતે અમને આ વાત કરી. વિદ્યાર્થીઓને સારુ ભણાવી શકે તે માટે અમે શિક્ષકોની પસંદગી કરીએ તેમાં વ્યક્તિના ભણતરની સાથે સાથે તેમના જીવનનો સંઘર્ષ પણ સમજીએ અને પછી શિક્ષક તરીકે પસંદગી કરીએ.

અહીંયા ગજેન્દ્રભાઈ હિંમતે મર્દા તો મદદે ખુદા કહેવત ને ચરિતાર્થ કરતા હતા. એ ભણવવામાં સરસ હતા અમારી પરીક્ષા એમણે પાસ કરી પણ એમના જીવન સંઘર્ષની વાતો પણ બાળકોને પ્રેરણા આપશે એમ માની એમની પસંદગી અમારી ટીમમાં કરી.
અત્યારે એ સાબરકાંઠાની કડિયાદરા પ્રાથમિક શાળામાં બાળકોને ભણાવે.. નાની નાની વાતે નિરાશ થતા પોતાના વર્ગખંડના બાળકોને ગજેન્દ્રભાઈ અદભૂત રીતે મોટીવેટ કરે.. એ કહે, 'હું મૃત્યુના દરવાજેથી મારી હિંમતથી પાછો આવ્યો છું. દુનિયામાં કશું અશક્ય નથી.. બસ જે અનુભવ્યું એ બાળકોને કહુ ને બાળકોમાં એનાથી ઉત્સાહ ભરાય..' 
ગજેન્દ્રભાઈને લોકપયોગી કામમાં પોતાના જીવનની સાર્થકતા શોધતા હતા ને અમે એમાં નિમિત્ત બન્યા...

અમારી પાસે ગજેન્દ્રભાઈ જેવા શિક્ષક હોવાનું ગૌરવ...

Ensuring Every Child's Right to Education Despite Life's Challenges

 "Even if we work hard and sweat, we can barely afford two meals a day. If we miss even a day of work, our family goes hungry."

In addition to supporting children's education, we also assist underprivileged families. We encounter many working families who are in similar situations. And most of them repeat the same story. We witness the children's future being destroyed in the face of life's challenges. Parents are well aware of all this but they are helpless against hunger.

I recently visited Shri Asai Primary School in Wadaali, Sabarkantha, and met Hitenbhai, who works as a supplementary teacher for KRSF. He mentioned Sharmishta, a fourth-standard student who had been missing school because her parents were working and she had to take care of her younger sibling at home.

Hitenbhai, along with school teachers Bhaveshbhai and Sangitaben, went to Sharmishtha's house and explained to the parents that Sharmishtha would also face a similar situation like them if their daughter did not study.

No parent wants harm to a child. They started taking the little child to work with them and Sharmishtha resumed going to school.

We feel very happy that our Hitenbhai solved the whole matter with sensitivity...

Seeing such cases, our purpose that no child should be deprived of education seems to be materializing and coming true...

 

પરસેવો પાડીએ ત્યારે માંડ બે ટંકનું ભેગું થાય. મજૂરીયે એક દાડો ન જઈએ તો ઘરની હાલત ખરાબ થઈ જાય...

અમે બાળકોના શિક્ષણની સાથે સાથે વંચિતોના કાર્યોમાં પણ મદદરૃપ થઈએ એટલે અનેક શ્રમજીવી પરિવારોને મળવાનું થાય ને મોટાભાગના આ વાત અચૂક કરે.. તેમની જીવવાની પળોજણમાં બાળકોનું ભવિષ્ય બગડતું પણ અમે જોઈએ. આ બધુ મા-બાપ જાણે પણ  ભૂખ સામે એમની લાચારી.

હમણાં સાબરકાંઠાના વડાલીની શ્રી અસાઈ પ્રાથમિક શાળામાં જવાનું થયું. ત્યાં KRSF ના હિતેનભાઈ પૂરક શિક્ષક તરીકે કામ કરે. એમણે ચોથા ધોરણમાં ભણતી શર્મિષ્ઠાની વાત કરી. મા-બાપને કામ ધંધા માટે જવું પડે ને ઘરમાં નાના બાળકને સાચવવાનું નાનકડી શર્મિષ્ઠા કરે. આ જવાબદારીના કારણે એની નિશાળ છુટવા માંડી. 

શાળાના શિક્ષક ભાવેશભાઈ અને સંગીતાબેન સાથે મળી હિતેનભાઈ શર્મિષ્ઠાના ઘરે ગયા ને મા-બાપને દિકરી નહીં ભણે તો એમના જેવી જ સ્થિતિ કયાંક મોટા થઈને શર્મિષ્ઠાની પણ થશેનું સમજાવ્યું. 

કોઈ પણ માતા પિતા બાળકનું અહિત ન જ ઈચ્છે. એમણે નાના બાળકને સાથે લઈ જવાનું શરૃ કર્યું ને  શર્મિષ્ઠાએ નિશાળમાં જવાનું..

અમારા હિતેનભાઈએ સંવેદનાથી આખી વાતને ઉકેલી એનો રાજીપો...
આવા કિસ્સા જોઈને એક પણ બાળક શિક્ષકથી વંચિત ન રહે એવી અમારી નેમ સાર્થક થઈ રહ્યાનું લાગે...

 

Empowering Bright Futures: Dr. K. R. Shroff Foundation's Scholarship Initiative to Prevent School Dropouts and Uplift Families

 "A teacher is one who prepares the child holistically to survive in upcoming challenging situations.”

 What a beautiful sentiment the verses of the poem written by Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan reveals. We keep saying  that children are the future of this country. But do we put in our solid efforts to mould that child in right perspective?

It can be definitely said that children are the priority of any country where one fourth of the total budget is spent on education. Of course, it is just a matter of education and knowledge for a commn man, but it is a matter of implementation who value them.

We, i.e. Dr. K. R. Shroff Foundation is being instrumental in shaping the future of this country by imparting excellent education to children. We mostly work together with government schools to ensure that children studying in government schools get good education. We place teachers where there is shortage of teachers. Time and again, we give intensive training to our teachers as to how to teach children and while teaching, where more attention should be given.

During this training it came to our attention that many children are smart in studies but the financial condition of the families is such that they fall apart overnight. Consequently, children drop out of school.

We have started a scholarship program so that such children do not drop out of school and support their families also with scholarship money. This program provides a fixed amount every month to a child. To get the scholarship, the child has to pass the exam. After passing the exam, he gets a fixed amount every month for one year. In order for the scholarship to continue in the second year, the student has to retake the exam in the second year as well. Thus, if child passes the exam every year, he/she will get support in the form of scholarship money every year.

Once the family of the child gets help from our scholarship program, the family works hard to continue their children's education. If the child and family do not work hard for his education, then the scholarship will stop. The benefit of this program is that it has stopped the dropout ratio of bright students and it additionally supports the family.

Recently in the Danta area of ​​Banas kantha, 33 children were selected by our teachers from the schools we help out in the area. They took exams conducted by us to get scholarships.

Our teachers search for the children who are eligible to get the scholarship. Not only that, our teachers help them also to prepare for the exams.

Our effort is to make sure every child takes education. Our intention is to take care of the children through scholarship program so that they do not drop out of school due to family problems.

જે દેશના કુલ બજેટનો ચોથો ભાગ શિક્ષણ પાછળ ખર્ચાય તે દેશની પ્રાથમિકતામાં બાળકો છે તેવું ચોક્કસ કહી શકાય. આમ તો આ વાતો જ્ઞાનની અને જેને અમલ કરવો હોય તેના માટે અમલની..
અમે એટલે કે ડો.કે.આર.શ્રોફ ફાઉન્ડેશન દેશના ભાવિના ઘડતરમાં બાળકોને ઉત્તમ શિક્ષણ આપી નિમિત્ત બની રહ્યું છે. 
અમે મહત્તમ સરકારી નિશાળમાં ભણતા બાળકોને સારુ શિક્ષણ મળે તે માટે સરકારી શાળાઓ સાથે મળીને પ્રયત્નો કરીએ. અમે જ્યાં શિક્ષકોની ઘટ છે ત્યાં શિક્ષકો મૂકીએ. અમારા શિક્ષકોને બાળકોને કવી રીતે ભણાવવા, ભણાવતી વખતે શું ધ્યાન રાખવું તેની સઘન તાલીમ પણ વખતો વખત આપીયે.

આ તાલીમ દરમ્યાન અમારા ધ્યાને આવ્યું કે ઘણા બાળકો ભણવામાં હોંશિયાર છે પણ ઘરની સ્થિતિ એક સાંધે ત્યાં તેર તુટે એવી. જેના લીધે બાળકો ઝડપથી શાળા છોડી દે.

અમે આવા બાળકોની શાળા છુટે નહીં ને એ બાળકો થકી ઘરને પણ ટેકો મળે તે માટે સ્કોલરશીપ કાર્યક્રમ શરૃ કર્યો. જે અંતર્ગત દર મહિને એક નિયત રકમની વસ્તુ બાળકને મળે. સ્કોલરશીપ મેળવવા બાળકે એક પરિક્ષા પાસ કરવી પડે ને પરિક્ષા પાસ કર્યા પછી એને એક વર્ષ માટે નિયત રકમની વસ્તુ દર મહિને મળે. સ્કોરશીપ બીજા વર્ષે ચાલુ રહે તે માટે વિદ્યાર્થીએ પાછી બીજા વર્ષે પણ પરિક્ષા આપવી પડે. આમ દર વર્ષે પરિક્ષા પાસ કરે તો સ્કોલરશીપ રૃપે ટેકો મળે. 

અમારા સ્કોરશીપ કાર્યક્રમમાં જે બાળકને મદદ મળે તે પરિવારને એક વખત સ્કોલરશીપ રૃપે મદદ મળતી થાય તે પરિવાર પોતાના બાળકોના ભણતર માટે મહેનત કરવાનું કરે. જો બાળકના ભણતર માટે મહેનત નહીં કરે તો સ્કોલરશીપ મળવાનું બંધ થઈ જાય. આ કાર્યક્રમથી હોંશિયાર વિદ્યાર્થીનું શાળા છોડવાનું પ્રમાણ બંધ થયું ને ઘરમાં ટેકો થયો એ નફાનું.

હમણાં બનાસકાંઠાના દાંતા વિસ્તારમાં અમે જે શાળાઓમાં મદદ કરીએ તે વિસ્તારના અમારા શિક્ષકોએ પસંદ કરેલા 33 બાળકોની સ્કોલરશીપ મેળવવા પરીક્ષા લેવામાં આવી. 
સ્કોલરશીપ મેળવવા માટે હકદાર બાળકોની ખોજ અમારા શિક્ષકો કરે ને પરીક્ષાની તૈયારી પણ અમારા શિક્ષકો કરાવે.

અમારો પ્રયત્ન દરેક બાળક ભણે તેવો.. પણ ઘરની તકલીફોના કારણે બાળકો શાળા છોડો નહીં તેનું પણ સ્કોરશીપ કાર્યક્રમ થકી ધ્યાન રાખીએ... 

જે બાળકોએ પરિક્ષા આપી છે તે બધા સફળ થાય તેવી શુભભાવના..

Birthday... a special day in everyone's life.

Loved ones strive to make this day special in various ways. Previously, birthday celebrations were more popular in the cities only but now a days people in the villages too celebrate their birthdays in an unique way. 

It happened that we went to primary school in Isrigam in Aravalli district before vacation. They have unique way to celebrate a birthday. Usually, everywhere else, the child celebrating a birthday brings chocolates to distribute among his classmates, and in return, all the classmates wish the child a happy birthday.

But here, the school teachers and our supplementary teacher placed in this school by our KRSF, came up with the idea of making the children celebrate their birthdays in a unique way, other than chocolates, cakes. The idea of providing nutritious food like beans to the children instead of chocolate, even if they bring in handful of it, and hand it over to the sisters who prepare school lunch, put them in front of the children in prayer and the children welcomed this idea.

Then the practice of grain-donation began. Donation process would be conducted during Prarthana (Prayer). All the children in the school would wish the child by singing a beautiful birthday song. 

The parents of the children came to know about this new experiment. Parents were very happy. They responded by sending pulses/beans in quantities of a Kg or two instead of handfuls. Due to this, the children started getting protein-rich khichdi, pulao etc.

Pratulbhai Shroff, founder of KRSF, while visiting the Isri school, came to know about this unique process. Of course, the staff of KRSF also contributed food grains in this charity program of the organization on the occasion of the visit of Prutalbhai and the team. Pratulbhai was very satisfied with such alert foresight of the school...

It is desirable that an experiment like Isri school may be conducted in every school.

ઇસરી શાળામાં KRSF દ્વારા નિમણૂક થયેલ શિક્ષકોએ બાળકના જન્મદિવસની ઉજવણી માટે શરૂ કરી સંપૂર્ણ અનોખી, સર્જનાત્મક અને તંદુરસ્ત પહેલ. 

જન્મદિવસ દરેક માટે ખાસ.

વિવિધ રીતે આ દિવસને ખાસ બનાવવા પ્રિયજનો મથે. શહેરમાં જન્મદિવસની ઊજવણીનું ચલણ વધારે હતું પણ હવે ગામોમાં પણ અનોખી રીતે લોકો પોતાના જન્મદિવસ ઊજવે.. 

વેકેશન પહેલા અમે અરવલ્લી જિલ્લાના ઈસરીગામની પ્રાથમિકશાળામાં ગયા. ત્યાં એક નોખી રીતે જન્મદિવસ ઊજવાય. સામાન્ય રીતે જે બાળકનો જન્મ દિવસ હોય એ બાળક પોતાના વર્ગમાં ભણતા વિદ્યાર્થીઓ માટે ચોકલેટ લાવે ને એની વહેંચણી કરે ને વર્ગખંડમાં બાળકને જન્મદિવસની શુભેચ્છા બધા બાળકો આપે.

ચોકલેટ, કેક કરતા બાળકો કાંઈક નોખી રીતે જન્મદિવસ ઊજવે તેવો વિચાર શાળાના શિક્ષકો અને અમારા KRSF દ્વારા આ શાળામાં મુકાયલા અમારા પુરક શિક્ષકોને આવ્યો. બાળકોને ચોકલેટની જગ્યાએ પોષણયુક્ત આહાર એટલે કે કઠોળ ભલે મુઠ્ઠી લાવે તો મુઠ્ઠી પણ એ લઈને શાળાના મધ્યાભોજન બનાવતા બહેનોને મધ્યાનભોજન બનાવવા આપવાનો વિચાર પ્રાર્થનામાં બાળકો સામે મુકવામાં આવ્યો ને બાળકોએ આ વિચાર વધાવ્યો.

એ પછી શરૃ થયું ધાનદાન. ધાનદાનની પ્રક્રિયા પાર્થનામાં કરવામાં આવે. શાળાના તમામ બાળકો એ બાળકને જન્મદિવસની શુભેચ્છા સુંદર ગીત ગાઈને આપે. 

બાળકોના વાલીઓને આ નવતર પ્રયોગની ખબર પડી. વાલીઓ તો રાજી રાજી. તેઓ મુઠ્ઠી નહીં પણ કીલો બે કીલોની માત્રામાં કઠોળ મોકલતા થયા ને એનાથી બાળકોને પ્રોટીનથી ભરપુર ખીચડી, પુલાવ વગેરે મળવા માંડ્યા.

KRSF ના સ્થાપક પ્રતુલભાઈ શ્રોફ ઈસરી શાળાની મુલાકાતે ગયા. ત્યારે આ આખી પ્રક્રિયા વિષે એમણે જાણ્યું. અલબત KRSF ના સ્ટાફે પણ પ્રુતલભાઈ અને ટીમની વિઝીટ નિમીત્તે સંસ્થાના આ ધાનદાન કાર્યક્રમમાં અનાજ આપ્યું. શાળાની આવી સજાગતાથી પ્રતુલભાઈ પણ રાજી થયા...

ઈસરી જેવો પ્રયોગ દરેક શાળામાં થાય તે ઇચ્છનીય.
