Rasnal is small village in Gadhada Taluka of Botad. Prarthana, an interesting little girl studies in the primary school of the village. Parents do farming in partnership. Father drives a rental truck too.

Financial condition is relatively average. But the parents' spirit was to educate the daughter well, so she could go ahead in her life. She is smart in learning. Additionally, nature gifted her with melodious voice.

She sings prayers and leads others in prayers regularly in school. The principal of the school and two teachers Harshidaben and Medhaben, placed by us (i.e. KRSF) to fill vacancies of teachers in this school, felt that her voice was beautifully melodious. They encouraged Prarthana and arranged her singing practice during recess time. The voice started to mold  by picking rhythms.

During this time, a music competition was organized at the taluka level and Prarthana secured a first rank. Thereafter, she secured a second rank in the competition organized at the district level.

In cities, parents struggle to make children participate in extra-curricular activities. But this is still not happening in small villages. There, children's talent is first revealed to the teacher only. At such a time, if the teachers help in developing the talent of the child, the future of such children will shine in the fields other than education as well.

Along with government school, our team at KRSF feel happy in being instrumental in making Prarthna's future glorious.

શિક્ષકો વિદ્યાર્થીઓને તેમના હુનર શોધી તેને ઢાળીને તેમના સપનાને સિદ્ધ કરવામાંય મદદ કરે 

રસનાળ, બોટાદના ગઢડા તાલુકાનું નાનકડુ ગામ. ગામની પ્રાથમિકશાળામાં પ્રાર્થના નામની આપણને સૌને રસ પડે એવી દીકરી ભણે. માતા પિતા ભાગવી ખેતી કરે. પિતા ખેતી સાથે ટ્રક પણ ચલાવે.  આર્થિક સ્થિતિ ઘરની પ્રમાણમાં ઠીક ઠીક. પણ માતા પિતાની ભાવના દીકરી ભણીને ખુબ આગળ વધે તેવી. 

દીકરી ભણવામાં હોંશિયાર સાથે કુદરતે એનો કંઠ મજાનો ઘડ્યો. પ્રાર્થના શાળામાં થતી પ્રાર્થનામાં નિયમીત પ્રાર્થના ગાય. અવાજ સુંદર હોવાનું શાળાના આચાર્ય ને અમારા એટલે કે KRSF દ્વારા આ શાળામાં શિક્ષકોની ઘટની પૂર્તી માટે મુકેલા બે શિક્ષિકા હર્ષિદાબહેન અને મેધાબહેનને લાગ્યું. એમણે પ્રાર્થનાને પ્રોત્સાહન આપ્યું ને એનો રિયાઝ રીશેસ દરમ્યાન શરૃ કરાવ્યો. કંઠ ઘડાતો ગયો. 

આ દરમ્યાન તાલુકા કક્ષાએ સંગીત સ્પર્ધાનું આયોજન થયું ને એમાં પ્રાર્થના પ્રથમ આવી એ પછી  જિલ્લાકક્ષાએ આયોજીત સ્પર્ધામાં એ બીજા ક્રમે આવી.

શહેરોમાં બાળકોને ભણવા સિવાયની પ્રવૃતિમાં ભાગ લેતા કરવા મા-બાપ ભારે જહેમત ઉઠાવે. પણ ગામ઼ડાઓમાં હજુ આ બધુ થતું નથી. ત્યાં બાળકોની પ્રતિભાનો પહેલો પરિચય શિક્ષકને જ થાય. આવા સમયે શિક્ષકો એ બાળકની પ્રતિભા ખીલવવામાં મદદરૃપ થાય તો આવા બાળકોનું ભવિષ્ય ભણતર સિવાયના ક્ષેત્રમાં પણ ઉજળુ બને..

પ્રાર્થનાનું ભવિષ્ય ઉજળું બનાવવામાં સરકારી શાળાની સાથે KRSF ની ટીમ નિમીત્ત બની રહી છે તેનો રાજીપો..

''I met Sandhya for the first time when she was in class 6. She was good at English and maths but she

was scared of science subject. When I sat with her to understand why it is so, she said, ''I don't

understand science at all!'' Sandhya was not an ordinary student. She is brilliant. However, she did not like science and so, she used to drop that subject. I thought that was not right.

“Teachers are specially trained in our foundation to teach difficult subjects easily. I used what I learned

in this training to teach Sandhya science with childlike ease. And Sandhya, with her devotion, became quite proficient with science within two years. She is currently in class 12 and dreams of becoming a doctor. I am constantly with her to solve her every puzzle in her education'' said Rubinaben. Her father is a vegetables hawker. Witnessing her father's difficulties, Sandhya repeats every day, ‘I want to become a doctor and free my father from pulling lorry to sell vegetables.’ As also, every daughter is very concerned about her father. The financial condition of the family is also weak. Our foundation train us to hold hands of such students till the end. I just implemented what I learned from foundation and Sandhya now is in class 12.” Rubinaben, who has been working at D K School in Ahmedabad since last 7 years, told us this with pride while talking about Sandhya.

Each of our teachers are determined to do something concrete in the lives of children. We went to Sandhya's house. His father thanked us. He said, ''Sandhya wants to become a doctor, but I don't understand how that can be possible. We, ourselves do not understand this type of education system. But Rubinaben explains everything to her and with support she in now in class 12.''

When you hear this, you feel satisfied. More than 650 teachers of Dr. K. R. Shroff Foundation teach in various government and institute-run schools where there is shortage of teachers. We provide continuous training to these teachers on how to mold children.

Acharya Chanakya's phrase ''Destruction and Creation, both are fostered in teacher's lap.'' We try to drill this value in our teachers minds. Foundation's goal is ''CREATION'' and we strive to make teachers determined to achieve it. When we met Sandhya with Rubinaben, we felt that what we sowed has blossomed...

શિક્ષકો સરળતાથી વિદ્યાર્થીની નબળાઈ શોધે અને તરત જ તેના પર કામ કરવાનું શરૂ કરે 

'સંધ્યાને હું પહેલીવાર ધો.6માં એ ભણતી ત્યારે મળી. અંગ્રેજી અને ગણીત એનું સારુ પણ વિજ્ઞાનથી એ દુર ભાગે. આવું કેમ? એ સમજવા જ્યારે એની સાથે બેસી ત્યારે એણે કહ્યું, વિજ્ઞાનમાં મને ટપ્પો નથી પડતો.. સંધ્યા સામાન્ય વિદ્યાર્થી નહોતી. એ હોંશિયાર હતી. એને વિજ્ઞાન નથી ગમતું એટલે એ વિષય છોડી દેવાનું એ કરતી જે મને યોગ્ય ન લાગ્યું. બાળકોને અઘરા લાગતા વિષયો સરળ રીતે શીખવવા અમારા ફાઉન્ડેશનમાં તાલીમ આપવામાં આવે. આ તાલીમમાં હું જે શીખી તેનો ઉપયોગ મે સંધ્યાને સરળતાથી વિજ્ઞાન શીખવવા કર્યો. અને સંધ્યાનું વિજ્ઞાન બે વર્ષમાં એકદમ સરસ થઈ ગયું.

હાલ એ ધો.12માં છે અને ડોક્ટર બનવાનું સ્વપ્ન સેવે છે. હું ભણતરને લગતી એની દરેક મૂંઝવણમાં સાથે છું. એના પપ્પા શાકભાજી વેચે છે. પિતાની તકલીફ સંધ્યા જુએ એટલે દરરોજ મારે ડોક્ટર થઈને મારા પપ્પાને આ લારી લઈને શાકભાજી વેચવામાંથી મુક્તિ અપાવવી છે એવું કહે. દીકરીઓને આમ પણ પિતાની ચિંતા વધુ હોય. પરિવારની આર્થિક હાલત પણ નબળી. અમને ફાઉન્ડેશનમાંથી આવા વિદ્યાર્થીઓની આંગળી છેક સુધી પકડી રાખવાનું શીખવવામાં આવે. બસ જે શીખી એ અમલમાં મુક્યું ને સંધ્યા 12માં આવી ગઈ.'

અમદાવાદમાં ડી કે બીન શાળામાં 7 વર્ષથી ફરજ બજાવતા રૃબીનાબહેને ગૌરવ સાથે સંધ્યાની વાત કરતા અમને આ જણાવ્યું.

અમારા દરેક શિક્ષક બાળકોના જીવનમાં નક્કર કશુંક કરવાના સંકલ્પ સાથે કામ કરે. સંધ્યાના ઘરે અમે ગયા. એના પપ્પાએ અમારો આભાર માન્યો. એમણે કહ્યું, 'સંધ્યા ડોક્ટર બનવાનું કહે પણ એ કેમ બનાય મને કશું સમજાય નહીં. પણ આ રૃબીનાબહેન એને બધુ સમજાવે. અમને તો આ ભણતરમાં ઝાઝી ખબર ના પડે. પણ તમે સાથે રહ્યા ને સંધ્યા બારમાં સુધી પહોંચી ગઈ.'

આવું સાંભળીયે ત્યારે સંતોષ થાય. ડો.કે.આર.શ્રોફ ફાઉન્ડેશનના 650 થી વધારે શિક્ષકો વિવિધ સરકારી અને સંસ્થા સંચાલિત નિશાળમાં જ્યાં શિક્ષકોની ઘટ હોય ત્યાં ભણાવે. આ શિક્ષકોને અમે બાળકોનું ઘડતર કેવી રીતે કરવું તેની સતત તાલીમ આપીયે.

આચાર્ય ચાણક્યનું વાક્ય ''પ્રલય ઔર નિર્માણ શિક્ષક કી ગોદમે પલતા હૈ..'' આ વાત અમારા શિક્ષકોને અમે બરાબર સમજાવીયે અને ફાઉન્ડેશનનું લક્ષ્ય ''સર્જન'' અને એમાં શિક્ષકો કટીબદ્ધ થાય તે માટે મથીયે.

Tejaswi is radiant as per her name. Her raw house is on top of a hill in Gadhgam, Dediyapada taluka

in Narmada district. After parking the vehicle on the road, we went to her house. We, Dr. K. R. Shroff Foundation, is instrumental in educating 50,000 children like Tejaswi. It is our desire to meet all these children, to ask about their daily routine and specially to listen to their dreams. But it is practically impossible to meet all of them.

While in Dediyapada, our volunteer Govindbhai suggested to meet Tejaswi. Very nice girl! Her dream is to become a teacher. She was not that good at studies in the beginning but our teacher Dipikaben worked hard with her. Now she is brilliant and also gets a foundation scholarship every month. It was interesting to know Tejaswi. We give scholarships to economically weak students. But to get it, they have to stay at top of the class. They have to pass our exam every year. And for that, not only Tejaswi but the whole family had to work hard for Tejaswi to study. In Tejaswi's case, she managed to get the scholarship because of hard work of trio, Tejaswi herself, our teacher Deepikaben and her family.

We reached her house to know her situation. The situation was deteriorated. But Tejaswi's grandfather is very proud of his granddaughter. It is so natural to feel proud because such a small girl was helping her family through her scholarship.

Our Pratulbhai Shroff met Tejaswi's family, listened to their dreams. His dream is to improve the lives of millions of children through education. As a team we are determined to realize his dream. Witnessing the work done right before his eyes, Pratulbhai felt contented.

તેજસ્વની નામ પ્રમાણે તેજસ્વી. નર્મદાના ડેડીયાપાડાના ગઢગામમાં ડુંગર ઉપર એનું કાચુ ઘર. રોડ પર વાહન પાર્ક કરી અમે એના ઘરે પહોંચ્યા. તેજસ્વી જેવા 50,000 બાળકોને ભણાવવામાં અમે એટલે કે ડો.કે.આર.શ્રોફ ફાઉન્ડેશન નિમિત્ત બને. મન તો આ બધા બાળકોને મળવાનું, તેમના હાલચાલ પુછવાનું ને ખાસ તો તેમના સમણાં સાંભળવાનું. પણ બધાને મળવું શક્ય નહીં.

ડેડીયાપાડામાં હતા એ વખતે અમારા કાર્યકર ગોવિંદભાઈએ કહ્યું, તેજસ્વીને મળીએ? મજાની દિકરી. શિક્ષક બનવાનું એનું સ્વપ્ન. ભણવામાં એ પહેલાં ઠીકઠાક હતી પણ આપણા શિક્ષિકા દીપીકાબહેને એના પર ઘણી મહેનત કરી. હવે એ તેજસ્વી થઈ ગઈ છે અને ફાઉન્ડેશનમાંથી એને દર મહિને સ્કોલરશીપ પણ મળે છે.

ગોવિંદભાઈની વાત સાંભળી મજા પડી. સ્કોરશીપ અમે આર્થિક રીતે નબળા વિદ્યાર્થીઓને આપીયે. પણ એ મેળવવા એમણે ભણવામાં અવલ્લ રહેવું પડે. અમારી પરિક્ષા એ પણ દર વર્ષે પાસ કરવી પડે ત્યારે જતા એમને સ્કોલરશીપ મળે. વળી એ માટે માત્ર તેજસ્વીને નહીં પણ આખા ઘરનાએ તેજસ્વી ભણે તે માટે મહેનત કરવી પડે. તેજસ્વીના કિસ્સામાં એણે પોતે, અમારા શિક્ષીકા દીપીકાબહેન અને પરિવાર ત્રણેયે મહેનત કરેલી એટલે એ સ્કોરશીપ મેળવવામાં સફળ રહી.

અમે એની સ્થિતિ સમજવા એના ઘરે પહોંચ્યા. હાલત તો કથળેલી. પણ તેજસ્વીના દાદાને પૌત્રી પર જબરુ અભિમાન. સ્કોલરશીપ થકી એ નાનકી ઘરને મદદ કરતી એટલે ગર્વ થાય એ સ્વાભાવીક. 

અમારા પ્રતુલભાઈ શ્રોફ તેજસ્વીના પરિવારને મળ્યા. એના સમણાં સાંભળ્યા. કાર્ય થતું પ્રત્યક્ષ જોઈયે ને જે સંતોષ થાય એવો સંતોષ પ્રતુલભાઈને થયો. એમની ઈચ્છા લાખો બાળકોની જીંદગીમાં શિક્ષણ થકી સુધારની.. ટીમ તરીકે અમે સૌ તેમના આ સમણાને પૂર્ણ કરવા મથીશું એ નક્કી.. તેજસ્વી સફળ થાયને ઉત્તમ શિક્ષક બને તેવી શુભભાવના.

Mathasar is village situated on the outskirts of Dediapada taluka of Narmada district. Small village has a very meager population. 45 children study in 1st to 5th grade government school. Total 5 classes but the number of students is far less. There was only one teacher. He could not do justice to all children even if he wanted to. Also, not all children liked to study. So, many children remained absent continuously.

All these details came to the notice of Dr. K. R. Shroff Foundation. It arranged to place a supplementary teacher. Foundation found Bharjibhai, an inquisitive educated man from the village who did not want to leave the village and was unemployed after his studies. Foundation trained him and placed him as a supplementary teacher in this school. Bharjibhai first noticed the absence of children from school and started going to their homes. He says, ''In the beginning when I used to go to children's homes, the boys would run away seeing me. I used to run after them like a deer. I would catch them and talk to them. I would explain to come to school. Once they would come to school, I used to play games and keep their minds engaged in studies. Mid-day meal was also arranged on a regular basis and everyone in the village cooperated in it.'' School is beautiful but there was no fence around it. Bharjibhai himself built a wooden fence around the school. He started teaching the children in the way they like. As a result, the absenteeism of the children reduced. The government teacher was also relieved from being overburdened. He was able to concentrate more on the children.

Dr. K.R. Shroff Foundation recruits the educated unemployed persons of the village as teachers,

especially those who have the spirit of living in the village and are ready to contribute to the development of the village. The results of government schools also improved where the foundation placed its teachers. Education is the foundation and the organization is working in this direction because education can change a person's life.

નર્મદા જિલ્લાના દેડીયાપાડાતાલુકાનું છેવા઼ડે આવેલું ગામા એટલે માથાસર.

નાનકડુ ગામ. વસતિ પણ ઝાઝી નહીં. 1 થી 5 ધો.ની સરકારી શાળા જેમાં 45 બાળકો ભણે. ધોરણ જુદા જુદા પણ સંખ્યા ઓછી એટલે શિક્ષક પણ એક જ. શિક્ષક બિચારા ઈચ્છે તો પણ બધા બાળકોને ન્યાય ન આપી શકે. વળી ભણવું બધા બાળકોને ગમે નહીં. એટલે ઘણા બાળકો સતત ગેરહાજર રહે. 

આ બધી વિગત ડો.કે.આર.શ્રોફ ફાઉન્ડેશનના ધ્યાને આવી. એમણે પૂરક શિક્ષક મુકવાની ગોઠવણ કરી. એમણે ગામના જ એક જીજ્ઞાસુ ભણેલા ને સૌથી અગત્યનું જેમને ગામ છોડવું નહોતુ અને ભણ્યા પછી બેકાર એવા ભારજીભાઈને શોધી કાઢ્યા ને એમને તાલીમ આપી આ શાળામાં પૂરક શિક્ષક તરીકે મુક્યા.

ભારજીભાઈએ પ્રથમ શાળામાં ગેરહાજર બાળકોની નોંધ લીધી અને એમના ઘરે જવાનું શરૃ કર્યું. એ કહે, 'હું શરૃઆતમાં બાળકોના ઘરે જતો તો છોકરાં મને જોઈને ભાગી જતા. હું પણ હરણાની જેમ એમની પાછળ દોડતો. એમને પકડતો પછી વાતો કરતો. નિશાળમાં આવવા સમજાવતો. નિશાળમાં આવે પછી રમતો રમાડી એમનું મન ભણવામાં પરોવાય એવું કરતો. મધ્યાનભોજન પણ નિયમીત કરાવ્યું ને એમાં ગામના સૌને જોડ્યા.'

શાળા સુંદર પણ એની ફરતે વાડ નહીં. ભારજીભાઈએ પોતે લાકડાથી શાળા ફરતે વાડ કરી. બાળકોને ગમે એવી રીતે એમણે ભણાવવાનું શરૃ કર્યું પરિણામે બાળકોની ગેરહાજરી ઓછી થઈ ગઈ.

સરકારી શિક્ષકને પણ ભારજીભાઈ આવવાથી ઘણી રાહત થઈ એ ચોક્કસ ધોરણના બાળકો પર વધારે ધ્યાન કેન્દ્રીત કરી શક્યા..

ડો.કે.આર. શ્રોફ ફાઉન્ડેશનગામના ભણેલા બેરોજગાર અને ખાસ જેમને ગામમાં રહેવાની ભાવના છે અને ગામના વિકાસમાં પોતાની હીસ્સેદારી નોંધાવવાની તૈયારી છે તેવા વ્યક્તિઓને શિક્ષક તરીકે ભરતી કરે. સરકારીશાળાઓના પરિણામો પણ જ્યાં ફાઉન્ડેશને પોતાના શિક્ષકો મૂક્યા ત્યાં બદલાયા. શિક્ષણ પાયો છે. એનાથી માણસની જિંદગી બદલાઈ શકે એટલે સંસ્થા આ દિશામાં કાર્યરત છે..

Why to waste money? When a village school can provide you education better than any private school

“We have passed a resolution in our village that not a single student of the village should be educated in a private school.” It was very surprising when Ravindrabhai of Kubaadhrol village of Wadali in Sabarkantha district said this. These days, it is like a craze to have a child study in a private school. As a result, the government schools have come to almost at dead end in many places. In such circumstances, what did Kubaadhrol do, so as to convince parents to educate their children only in the village school? Kubaadhrol Yuva Mandal established a high school in the village years ago, with an objective that students don't have to go out of the village for classes 9 and 10. Government gives grant to this high school. But, somewhere somehow, the quality of education gradually deteriorated causing the number of students also to decrease.

In such circumstances, Rabindrabhai Patel was elected as the president of the Yuva Mandal . He

concluded that the reason for the drop in students was, ''not getting good education''. He decided to

strive to meet the shortage of teachers for quality education. During this time, he happened to know

about our organization, Dr. K R Shroff Foundation, that works to provide quality education to children in Sabarkantha area by filling in shortage of teachers in government schools. He contacted us and

apprised us of the entire situation. We put trained teachers there. In the year 2016, when Dr K.R. Shroff

Foundation placed teachers, the total strength of class 9 and 10 was approximately 50. Then, due to the

tireless efforts of Ravindrabhai Kodarbhai Patel, Bhikhabhai Joitabhai Patel, Vasantbhai Shankarbhai

Patel, Pravinbhai Shivabhai Patel (Secretary of Seva Mandali), Pravinbhai Manakabhai Patel, Nareshbhai Ishwarbhai Patel, School In-Charge Shri Mahendrabhai Becharbhai Patel, school staff members, teacher Pareshbhai, appointed by Dr KR Shroff Foundation and the villagers, during the year 2017-18, the estimated number of students in class 9 and 10 increased to 100. As a result, the class 10th result of the school, which was very poor before, increased to 90 percent.

Rabindrabhai also admitted his children to study in the village’s own school. This provided the village the confidence in the improved education system. The good result of 10th is also being recognized in the taluka. As a result, students from surrounding villages also have started coming to this village to study.

The school principal Hiteshbhai also preferred to admit his children to study in the village school. He

said, ''We have to start working on ourselves first, then only we can tell the village people to follow''. His words were true. Now the Mandal has started KG-1, KG-2 in Gujarati medium.

We have saved many schools like Kubaadhrol from dying by posting qualified teachers. Pratulbhai Shroff, the founder of our organization, considers education as a '' PARASMANI'' (which turns iron into gold) and convinces us that the child's life will be transformed if it is touched by this ''Parasmani''. We strive to work with this philosophy.

Recently Pratulbhai visited Kubaadhrol school. He had the conversation with children, teachers and villagers. The people of Kubaadhrol village resolved not to send children to study in a private school. Such resolutions to get quality education to every child in every village-city is desirable. It is definitely worth learning the example of Kubaadharol.

ખાનગી શાળામાં ગામનો એક પણ વિદ્યાર્થી ભણવા મુકવો નહીં એવો ઠરાવ અમે અમારા ગામમાં પસાર કર્યો છે. સાબરકાંઠાના વડાલીના કુબાધરોલ ગામના રવિન્દ્રભાઈએ જ્યારે આ વાત કરી ત્યારે ભારે નવાઈ લાગી. આજે તો ખાનગી શાળામાં બાળકને ભણવા મુકવાની જાણે હોડ લાગી છે. એટલે ઘણી જગ્યાએ સરકારી શાળાઓ મૃતપ્રાય અવસ્થામાં આવી ગઈ છે ત્યારે કુબાધરોલે એવું નોખુ શું કર્યું કે વાલીઓ પોતાના બાળકોને ગામની નિશાળામાં જ ભણાવવાની વાત માની ગયા. ગામમાં કુબાધરોલ યુવક મંડળે હાઈસ્કૂલની સ્થાપના વર્ષો પહેલાં કરેલી. મૂળ ધો.9 અને 10 માટે વિદ્યાર્થીઓને ગામ બહાર જવું ન પડે એ માટે. સરકાર આ હાઈસ્કૂલને ગ્રાન્ટ આપે. પણ ક્યાંક શિક્ષણની ગુણવત્તા ધીમે ધીમે ઘટી ને એના લીધે વિદ્યાર્થીની સંખ્યા પણ.

આજ અરસામાં મંડળના પ્રમુખ તરીકે રવીન્દ્રભાઈ પટેલની વરણી થઈ. એમણે વિદ્યાર્થીઓની ઘટનું કારણ સારુ શિક્ષણ મળતું ન હોવાનું તારણ કાઢ્યું. અને ગુણવત્તાસભર શિક્ષણ માટે શિક્ષકની ઘટ પૂર્તી થાય એ માટે પ્રયત્ન કરવાનું નક્કી કર્યું, આવામાં એમને સાબરકાંઠાના પોતાના વિસ્તારમાં જે સંસ્થાઓ કે સરકારી શાળાઓમાં શિક્ષકોની ઘટ હોય ત્યાં ઘટની પૂર્તી કરી બાળકોને ગુણવત્તા સભર શિક્ષણ મળે તે માટે કાર્ય કરતી અમારી સંસ્થા એટલે કે ડૉ. કે.આર.શ્રોફ ફાઉન્ડેશન વિષે ખબર પડી. એમણે અમારો સંપર્ક કર્યો ને સમગ્ર સ્થિતિથી અમને અવગત કરાવ્યા. અમે ત્યાં તાલીમબદ્ધ શિક્ષક મુક્યા. વર્ષ 2016માં જ્યારે ડૉ કે.આર.શ્રોફ ફાઉન્ડેશન તરફથી શિક્ષક મુક્યા ત્યારે ધોરણ 9 અને 10 ની કુલ સંખ્યા અંદાજીત 50 જેટલી હતી. ત્યારબાદ રવિન્દ્રભાઈ કોદરભાઈ પટેલ, ભીખાભાઇ જોઈતાભાઈ પટેલ, વસંતભાઈ શંકરભાઇ પટેલ, પ્રવિણભાઇ શિવાભાઈ પટેલ(સેવા મંડળી સેક્રેટરી), પ્રવિણભાઇ માણકાભાઈ પટેલ, નરેશભાઈ ઈશ્વરભાઈ પટેલ, શાળાના

ઇન્ચાર્જ આચાર્યશ્રી મહેન્દ્રભાઈ બેચરભાઈ પટેલ તેમજ શાળાના સ્ટાફગણ, ડૉ કે.આર.શ્રોફ ફાઉન્ડેશન તરફથી મુકાયેલ શિક્ષક પરેશભાઈ અને ગ્રામ્યજનના અથાગ પ્રયત્નોથી વર્ષ 2017-18 દરમિયાન ધોરણ 9 અને 10ની અંદાજીત સંખ્યા 100 જેટલી થઈ હતી.પરિણામે શાળાનું ધો.10નું રીઝલ્ટ જે પહેલાં ખૂબ ઓછુ આવતું એમાં ઘરખમ વધારો થઇ 90 ટકા જેટલું આવતું થયું. 

રવીન્દ્રભાઈએ પોતાના બાળકોને ગામની શાળામાં ભણવા બેસાડ્યા. એનાથી ગામને પણ સુધરેલી શિક્ષણ વ્યવસ્થા પર ભરોસો પડ્યો. શાળાનું ધો. 10નું પરિણામ પણ તાલુકામાં નોંધ લેવી પડે તેવું સરસ આવવા માંડ્યું છે. પરિણામે આસપાસના ગામના વિદ્યાર્થીઓ પણ અહીંયા ભણવા આવવા માંડ્યા. શાળાના આચાર્ય હીતેશભાઈએ પણ પોતાના બાળકોને ગામની શાળામાં જ ભણવા બેસાડ્યા. એ કહે, 'કાર્યની શરૃઆત આપણાથી કરવી પડે તો આપણે ગામને કહી શકીએ. '

એમની વાત સાચી હતી. હવે તો મંડળે કેજી.-1, કેજી-2 ગુજરાતી માધ્યમમાં શરૃ કરાવ્યું છે.

અમે કુબાધરોલ જેવી અનેક શાળાઓમાં શિક્ષકો મુકીને એ શાળાઓને મૃતપ્રાય થતી બચાવી છે. અમારી સંસ્થાના સ્થાપક પ્રતુલભાઈ શ્રોફ શિક્ષણને પારસમણી માને અને આ પારસમણી જે બાળકને અડી જાય એ બાળકનું જીવન સુધરી જાય એવું અમને સમજાવે. બસ આ ફીલોસોફી પર અમે કામ કરીએ..

કુબાધરોલ ગામના લોકોએ ખાનગી શાળામાં બાળકોને ભણવા નહીં મુકવાનો ઠરાવ કર્યો આવા ઠરાવો દરેક ગામ- શહેરમાં થાય તેવું ગુણવત્તાસભર શિક્ષણ દરેક બાળકને મળે તે ઈચ્છનીય...ને કુબાધરોલ પાસેથી એ શીખવા જેવું પણ ખરુ.

Ilaben's connection with Varsha

“This girl does not speak much, does not mix with anyone, why keeps mum and keeps to herself

alone?” This question cropped up in Ilaben's mind. A normal child studying in the third standard always keeps having fun and enjoying. But this girl? Ilabhen was posted as a supplementary teacher in Rakanpur village primary school in Kalol and this girl, Varsha came to her attention.

She called Varsha. Varsha approached her with hesitation and fear. Ilaben tried to speak with her but she did not speak much. When Ilaben focused a little more, she realized that Varsha was weak in studies, resultantly found her lacking self-confidence. She did not even have any friends in the class. She used to sit quietly alone.

We have placed Ilaben as a supplementary teacher. We train supplementary teachers to teach children as well as observe them, train them as to how to instill faith in them, train them to instill sacramental, cultural values in kids. Due to this training Ilaben very well understood Varsha's condition. She started teaching Varsha attentively. Ilaben explained in an understandable and known language to Varsha. As a result, Varsha has started participating in every class activity and even has made friends. Ilaben helped with all her efforts. A teacher can change a child's life. This can happen only if the teacher makes sincere efforts. The change in Varsha is the result of Ilaben's sincere devotion.

Currently, the organization has placed 670 teachers in government schools where there is shortage of

teachers and more than 60,000 children are getting education through these teachers. Pratulbhai Shroff, the founder of Dr. K. R. Shroff Foundation, clearly believes that the future of the country can be brightened with the flame of education, so he strives to spread light and brighten the lives of more and more children through supplementary teachers.

શિક્ષકના નિષ્ઠાવાન પ્રયાસો વિદ્યાર્થીનું જીવન બદલી શકે

આ દીકરી બહુ બોલતી નથી, કોઈ સાથે ભળતી નથી એકલી ગુમસુમ કેમ રહે છે?

ઈલાબહેનને આ પ્રશ્ન થયો. ત્રીજા ધોરણમાં ભણતું બાળક તો કેવી મસ્તી કરે. પણ આ દીકરી?

ઈલાબહેન કલોલના રકનપુરગામની પ્રાથમિકશાળામાં પૂરક શિક્ષક તરીકે મુકાયા ને એમના ધ્યાને આ દીકરી એટલે કે વર્ષા આવી. એમણે વર્ષાને બોલાવી. વર્ષા સંકોચ અને ડર સાથે એમની પાસે આવી. ઈલાબહેને વાત કરવા કોશીશ કરી પણ એ ઝાઝુ ન બોલી. 

ઈલાબહેને થોડું વધારે ધ્યાન આપ્યું તો ખ્યાલ આવ્યો કે એ ભણવામાં નબળી છે એટલે આત્મવિશ્વાસમાં પણ નબળી પડી ગઈ. વર્ગમાં એના કોઈ દોસ્તો પણ નહીં. એકલી ગૂમસૂમ બેસે.

ઈલાબહેનને પૂરક શિક્ષક તરીકે અમે મુકેલા. અમે પૂરક શિક્ષકોને તાલીમ આપીયે તેમાં બાળકોને ભણાવવાની સાથે સાથે તેમનું નિરક્ષણ કરવાની, તેમનામાં વિશ્વાસ કેવી રીતે ભરવો, સંસ્કાર સિંચનની તાલીમ આપવાનું પણ અમે કરીએ. આ તાલીમના લીધે ઈલાબહેન વર્ષાની સ્થિતિ સમજ્યા. એમણે વર્ષા પર ધ્યાન આપી તેને ભણાવવાનું શરૃ કર્યું.  વર્ષાને સમજાય એ ભાષામાં સમજાવ્યું.

પરિણામે વર્ષા હવે વર્ગની દરેક પ્રવૃતિઓમાં ભાગ લેતી થઈ અને મિત્રો પણ બન્યા. આ મિત્રો બનાવવામાં પણ ઈલાબહેને મદદ કરી.

એક શિક્ષક બાળકનું જીવન બદલી શકે. બસ શિક્ષક નિષ્ઠાથી પ્રયત્ન કરે તો આ થઈ શકે. વર્ષામાં આવેલો બદલાવ એ ઈલાબહેનની નિષ્ઠાનું પરિણામ. હાલમાં સંસ્થા દ્વારા 670 શિક્ષકો સરકારી શાળાઓમાં જ્યાં શિક્ષકોની ઘટ છે ત્યાં મુક્યા છે અને એ શિક્ષકો થકી 60,000 થી વધુ બાળકો શિક્ષણ મેળવી રહ્યા છે.

A Teacher's Journey : From not interested in teaching to Honored as Cluster Head

Chithoda, a small village of Vijayanagar….. Kantibhai has a bicycle shop in the village. Fixed small ordinary income. He was educated till 10th but then could not study further. But he was determined to educate his children a lot. Kalpeshbhai is his eldest son. Kantibhai dreamed of making him a teacher. To achieve that purpose, he made him study till PTC and B.Ed. Although Kalapeshbhai had no intention of becoming a teacher, he respected his father's wish. Kantibhai thought that if he gets a government job, he would be able to lead a good life. But alas! He could not secure a government job.

In such circumstances, he read in the newspaper that our organization is recruiting teachers and he

applied. He has a view that it is good if you get to work in the field in which you have fundamentally

studied and are trained. We selected Kalpeshbhai as a teacher and placed him as a teacher in Itavadi

Primary School of Vijayanagar taluka. Of course, he understood during PTC, BED training that the role of a teacher obviously is to teach children. But when he joined the institute, during the training, he understood the real role of a teacher.

The principle of devotion to duty is digested very well by him. So he decided to work for a real change in the lives of the children in the school assigned to him. On the very first day of school, he talked about doing a lot of new things in school. The school teachers cooperated with him. He changed the prayer practice in which he defined the role of the teachers as well as the children. Because of this, the teachers also took interest and made the children perform various activities in the prayer meeting.

Once the CRC visited the school and he was impressed by the prayer activity. He implemented the same kind of prayer activity in all the schools under his control.

To know the progress of the children we also make a progress report for the sake of our institution. We

asked the children to show the progress report to their parents when they are home and get them to

sign it. As a result, parents got an idea of ​​what their children have been taught in school. Due to this, number of parents visiting the school also increased.

National events were celebrated earlier in the school. But, Kalpeshbhai decided to involve the parents,

and conscious people of the village also in the celebrations. As a result, the villagers started donating to

the school for small and big needs. In short, because of everyone’s participation, there was a noticeable

improvement in the study results of the school children as well.

We noticed that Kalpeshbhai had leadership qualities. So instead of restricting his role as a teacher only, he was promoted as a team leader where he was given the responsibility of ten schools. He played his part very well by making a visible change in these ten schools. Seeing his skills and talent, it was decided to give him the responsibility as cluster head. We decided to transfer him to Meghraj of Aravalli district for this purpose.

Currently, he is in charge of 31 schools. He had to leave his hometown and go to Meghraj, but he was all prepared. He said, ''I am no longer just a teacher. Besides teacher, I am now a social worker as well. And only after a teacher performs a role of a social worker, he can bring the desired results in the society, school and children. I am just an instrument in bringing about that change. As a matter of fact, this is all possible because of the training I received from the organization. Our organization not only fills the vacancies of teachers in government schools but also teaches you what to do as a teacher to make the school environment child-friendly and interesting. I was able to bring about this change only because I learnt a role of a true teacher from the institute.”

Dr. K.R. Shroff Foundation is proud to have a teacher cum social worker like Kalpeshbhai.

502 teachers have been placed by the organization to meet the shortage of teachers in 476 government

schools and the lives of 33053 children are being reformed by these teachers.

શિક્ષકની સફર : શિક્ષણમાં રસ ન હોવાથી લઈને ક્લસ્ટર હેડ તરીકે સન્માનિત સુધી 

વિજયનગરનું નાનકડુ ગામ ચીથોડા. ગામમાં કાન્તીભાઈની સાયકલની દુકાન. આવક ઠીકઠાક. પોતે દસ ધો. ભણેલા. આગળ ભણવાનું એ નહોતા કરી શક્યા. પણ એમણે પોતાના બાળકોને ખુબ ભણાવવાની હોંશ રાખી. 

કલ્પેશભાઈ એમના મોટા દિકરા. એમણે એને શિક્ષક બનાવવાનું સ્વપ્ન સેવ્યું અને એ માટે પીટીસી, બીએડ કરાવ્યું. જો કે ક્લપેશભાઈનું મન શિક્ષક થવાનું જરાય નહીં પણ એમણે પિતાની ઈચ્છાને માન આપ્યું. સરકારી નોકરી મળી જાય તો બેડો પાર થઈ જાય એવું કાન્તીભાઈએ માનેલું પણ સરકારી નોકરીમાં મેળ ન પડ્યો. 

આવામાં એક દિવસ છાપામાં અમારી સંસ્થા શિક્ષકોની ભરતી કરે છે એ વાંચ્યું ને એમણે અરજી કરી. મૂળ જે ભણ્યા છે એમાં કામ કરવા મળે તો સારુ એવી ભાવના.

કલ્પેશભાઈની પસંદગી અમે શિક્ષક તરીકે કરી અને તેેમને વિજયનગર તાલુકાની ઇટાવડી પ્રાથમિક શાળામાં શિક્ષક તરીકે મુક્યા. આમ તો શિક્ષકની ભૂમિકા બાળકોને ભણાવવાની એવું એ પીટીસી, બીએડ દરમ્યાન સમજેલા પણ સંસ્થામાં જોડાયા એ વેળા એમની જે તાલીમ થઈ એમાં શિક્ષકની ખરી ભૂમિકા વિષે સમજ્યા.

કર્તવ્ય નિષ્ઠાની વાત એમના ગળે બરાબર ઉતરી. એટલે એમણે પોતાને સોંપાયેલી શાળામાં બાળકોના જીવનમાં ખરો બદલાવ આવે એ માટે મથવાનું નક્કી ક્યું. શાળાના પ્રથમ દિવસે જ એમને ઘણું નવું કરવાની વાત શાળામાં કરી. શાળાના શિક્ષકોએ એમને સહકાર આપ્યો. એમણે પ્રાર્થના પ્રવતિઓ બદલાવી જેમાં બાળકો સાથે સાથે જે તે શિક્ષકોની ભૂમિકા પણ એમણે નક્કી કરી. જેના લીધે શિક્ષકો પણ રસ લઈને વિવિધ પ્રવતિઓ પ્રાર્થના સભામાં બાળકોને કરાવતા થયા.

એક વખતે શાળાની મુલાકાતે CRC આવ્યા એ પ્રાર્થના પ્રવૃતિ જોઈને પ્રભાવીત થયા. એમણે એજ પ્રકારની પાર્થના પ્રવૃતિ પોતાના તાબા તળેની તમામ શાળાઓમાં કરાવી.

બાળકોની પ્રગતિ જાણવા માટે અમે સંસ્થાગત રીતે પણ એક પ્રગતિ પત્રક બનાવીએ. એ પ્રગતિ પત્રક બાળકોને ઘરે જઈને વાલીઓને બતાવી તેમાં સહી કરાવી લાવવા કહ્યું. પરિણામે વાલીઓને બાળકોને શાળામાં શું શીખવાડવામાં આવ્યું છે અનો ખ્યાલ આવ્યો. જેના લીધે વાલીઓનું નિશાળમાં આવવાનું વધ્યું.

રાષ્ટ્રીય પર્વની ઊજવણી શાળામાં પહેલાં થતી પણ હવે એમાં વાલીઓ, ગામના જાગૃત વ્યક્તિઓને જોડવાનું કલ્પેશભાઈએ કર્યું. જેનાથી શાળામાં પણ નાની મોટી જરૃરિયાત માટે ગ્રામજનો તરફથી દાન મળવા માંડ્યું.

ટૂંકમાં દરેક સહભાગી થયા એટલે શાળામાં બાળકોના પરિણામમાં પણ દેખીતો ફરક આવવા માંડ્યો. 

કલ્પેશભાઈમાં લીડરશીપનો ગુણ હોવાનું અમે નોંધ્યું. એટલે માત્ર શિક્ષક તરીકે તેમની ભૂમિકા સિમિત ન કરતા તેમને ટીમ લીડર તરીકેની બઢતી આપી જેમાં તેમને દસ શાળાની જવાબદારી આપી. આ દસ શાળાઓમાં તેમને દેખીતો બદલાવ કરાવવામાં પોતાની ભૂમિકા ભજવી. તેમની આ કુનેહ ને જોઈને તેમને ક્લસ્ટર હેડ તરીકેની જવાબદારી આપવાનું નક્કી કરાયું. અને એ માટે તેમની બદલી અરવલ્લીના મેઘરજમાં કરવાનું નક્કી કર્યું. હાલ તેઓ 31 શાળાઓની જવાબદારી સંભાળે. 

આમ તો વતન છોડી તેમને મેઘરજ જવાનું હતું અને એ તૈયાર થયા. તેમણે કહ્યું, "હું હવે માત્ર શિક્ષક નહોતો રહ્યો. હું શિક્ષકની સાથે સાથે સમાજસેવક પણ બન્યો. અને શિક્ષક સમાજ સેવક બને તો જ ઈચ્છીત ઈચ્છીત પરિણામ સમાજમાં, શાળામાં, બાળકોમાં લાવી શકે અને એ લાવવામાં હું નિમિત્ત બન્યો. પણ આ બધુ સંસ્થામાંથી વખતો વખત મળતી તાલીમથી થયું. આપણી સંસ્થા સરકારી શાળામાં શિક્ષકોની ઘટની પૂર્તી માત્ર નથી કરતી પણ એ ઘટની પૂર્તીની સાથે સાથે શિક્ષક તરીકે તમે શાળાના વાતાવરણને બાળકને અનુકુળ પડે, તેમને રસ પડે તેવું બનાવવા શું કરવું તે પણ શીખવે. હું સાચા શિક્ષકની ભૂમિકા શું હોય એ સંસ્થામાંથી શીખ્યો એટલે આ બદલાવ લાવી શક્યો.'

ડો. કે.આર. શ્રોફ ફાઉન્ડેશન પાસે કલ્પેશભાઈ જેવા સમાજસેવી શિક્ષક હોવાનો ગર્વ છે. 

સંસ્થા દ્વારા 502 શિક્ષકોને 476 સરકારી શાળામાં શિક્ષકોની ઘટ પૂર્તી માટે મુક્યા છે અને 33053 બાળકોના જીવનમાં આ શિક્ષકોથી બદલાવ આવી રહ્યો છે. 

શિક્ષણ થકી દેશના ભવિષ્યને બદલાવની ખેવના રાખનાર અમારી સંસ્થાના સ્થાપક આદરણીય પ્રતુલભાઈ શ્રોફના આ સ્વપ્નને પ્રણામ ને એમની સાથે ખભેખભા મીલાવી કામ કરતા ઉદયભાઈની અમને બધાને તૈયાર કરવાની લગનને સલામ..

Government schools benefit is not only for poor but for everyone

Citizens have formed the opinion that only the children of those who do not have financial resources and who cannot afford private schools, should study in government schools. Somewhere a tremendous misconception of this type has been created resulting in lot of private schools cropping up. We must have to think over to mitigate this situation.

''Well, as mentioned in my column of Phulchhab, let us talk about a person, who wants to correct the

situation in government schools. In my opinion, such commendable efforts should be intensified.

In a country like the Netherlands, there are very few private schools, out of which English medium schools are very negligible and can be counted on finger tips. You will not find any sign of private or English medium school even in big cities. If you want to have your child to educate in English medium, you have to drive many, many kilometers. Country is small but own native language is considered very important. The government schools are also very cool and awesome. Teachers are also not supposed to perform on-teaching duties.

In our country, our education system is deteriorated so much and we have reached such a low level that

we have to brainstorm to correct the situation!''- Mittal Patel.

Pratulbhai Shroff has placed many teachers in Sabarkantha and many other district schools to fill the need of qualified teachers who are devoted to education. He has taken a very distinct, different type of route. That's about today's talk.

સરકારી શાળાઓનું લાભ માત્ર ગરીબો માટે જ નહિ પરંતુ બધા માટે 

આર્થિક રીતે જેની પાસે સગવડ નથી અથવા જેની પાસે ખાનગી નિશાળો નથી એમના બાળકો જ સરકારી નિશાળમાં ભણે એવી સમજણ આજે નાગરિકોની બની છે.

ક્યાંક કશીક ચુક થઈ છે જેથી ખાનગીશાળાઓનો રાફડો ફાટ્યો છે. 

વિચાર તો કરવો પડશે.

નેઘરલેન્ડ જેવા દેશમાં ખાનગી નિશાળ એમાંય અંગ્રેજી માધ્યમની આંગળીના વેઢે ગણાય એટલી. મોટા સીટીમાં પણ તમને ખાનગી કે અંગ્રેજી માધ્યમની નિશાળ જોવા ન મળે. તમારા બાળકને અંગ્રેજી માધ્યમમાં ભણાવવું હોય તો તમારે ઘણા કી.મી. ડ્રાઈવ કરવું પડે. ટચુકડો દેશ પણ ભાષાનું મહત્વ ઘણું. સાથે સરકારી નિશાળો પણ મસ્ત. શિક્ષકો પણ ભણાવવા સિવાયની ડ્યુટીમાં ન હોય.

Scholarship can Lighten the burden of a single Mother and dreams to provide the best Future for her children

What happens if main pillar of the house is    collapsed? Similarly, what happens if chief of the    family dies? Life cannot be imagined for a moment.

The chief pillar of family, husband of Jayaben of  Netramali village in Sabarkantha district suddenly  died and abstained from her life. As also, death does  not knock on the door and arrive! If that were the  case, the first thing anyone would do is to ask it to  wait for a while!

Jayaben's husband was not old enough to bid  farewell to this world. But everyone is helpless  before death. She had to live with the responsibility  of two children and life was not easy either. Also, they did not have such a large estate or land that they can rely upon. There was no one else in the vast family to support. Father-in-law was there, but the old man also used to depend upon his son. In such a difficult situation, Jayaben worked as housemaid in the people's house in neighborhood and managed the family's livelihood. One of her two children, Prem is studying in 9th standard in Netrali village school. He is very bright in studies. Dr. K. R. Shroff Foundation is also instrumental in the education of children studying in this school. The vacancies of teachers in the village school is filled in through the foundation.

Shaileshbhai, our teacher, got the news that Prem has lost his father. The financial condition of the

house is also bad. So, for some time Prem would continue to come to school and then he would also

start working and supporting his mother. And a day would come when he too would drop out of the

school.

Shaileshbhai, the teacher of the foundation, was shaken by this thought. As also, the core of the

foundation is ''child first''. He decided to recommend this child to get scholarship from the foundation so that he would not drop out of school. Scholarship of 1000 rupees per month helps stabilize one's home.

Of course, student has to pass the foundation exam with good marks to get the scholarship every year.

Thus, Prem's studies also would progress well and his home would also be supported. Shaileshbhai

prepared him for the scholarship and Prem passed it with good marks. Prem's mother was relieved at home when he started getting scholarship.

Years ago mid-day meal in government school was also started with such good wishes and because of

mid-day meal, countless students studied across the country. Scholarship is also such a good idea. Such

wonderful progressive ideas also have to be implemented continuously to keep sustainability of child in school. We are really, really very happy that lives of thousands of underprivileged children are being transformed through such beautiful ideas of the founder of the organization, Honorable Pratulbhai

ઘરનો મોભ ન રહે તો?

ઘડીક માટે તો જીવનની કલ્પના જ ન થાય.

સાબરકાંઠાના નેત્રામલીગામના જયાબહેનના પતિ - એમનો મોભ અચાનક જીવનમાંથી ખસી ગયો. આમ પણ મૃત્યુ દરવાજો ખખડાવી થોડું આવે. જો એમ થતું હોત તો સૌ કોઈ એને ખમી જવાનું જ સૌથી પહેલાં કહેત.

જયાબહેનના પતિની ઉંમર કાંઈ આ દુનિયા છોડી જવા જેવડી નહોતી. પણ મૃત્યુ આગળ કોનું ચાલ્યું. બે બાળકોની જવાબદારી સાથે જીવવાનું તો હતું પણ જીવન સરળ પણ નહોતું. વળી એવડી એમની પાસે એવી મોટી કોઈ જમીન જાગીર નહીં કે એના આધારે નભી શકાય. પરિવારમાં અન્યોનો ટેકો પણ નહીં. સસરા ખરા પણ એ વૃદ્ધ એ પોતે દિકરા પર નભતા.

આવી સ્થિતિમાં જયાબહેન લોકોના ઘરના કચરા પોતા કરવા જાય ને પરિવારનું ગુજરાન ચલાવે. 

એમના બે બાળકોમાં પ્રેમ 9 ધોરણમાં ભણે. એ ભણવામાં ઘણો હોંશિયાર. નેત્રામલીગામની નિશાળમાં એ ભણે. આ નિશાળમાં ભણતા બાળકોના ભણતરમાં ડૉ. કે. આર. શ્રોફ ફાઉન્ડેશન પણ નિમિત્ત બને. ગામની શાળામાં શિક્ષકોની ઘટની પૂર્તી ફાઉન્ડેશન થકી થયેલી. શૈલેષભાઈ અમારા શિક્ષક એમને પ્રેમના માથેથી પિતાની છત્રછાયા નહીં રહ્યાના સમાચાર મળ્યા. ઘરની આર્થિક સ્થિતિ પણ કથળેલી આવામાં પ્રેમ થોડો સમય શાળામાં આવશે પછી માની સાથે એય ટેકો કરવામાં લાગી જશે. ને ધીમે ધીમે કદાચ નિશાળ છુટી જશે..

આ કલ્પના માત્રથી ફાઉન્ડેશનના શિક્ષક શૈલેષભાઈ હચમચી ગયા. આમ પણ ફાઉન્ડેશનનો હાર્દ બાળક પ્રથમ એટલે એમણે આ બાળકની શાળા છુટે નહીં માટે એને ફાઉન્ડેશનમાંથી મળતી સ્કોલરશીપ અપાવવાનું નક્કી કર્યું. સ્કોલરશીપમાં દર મહિને 1000 રપિયા લેખે ઘરમાં ટેકો થાય વળી દર વર્ષે સ્કોલરશીપ મેળવવા વિદ્યાર્થીએ સારા માર્કસ સાથે ઉતીર્ણ થવું પડે ને ફાઉન્ડેશનની પરીક્ષા પણ પાસ કરવી પડે. આમ પ્રેમનું ભણવાનું પણ સારુ ચાલે ને ઘરને ટેકો પણ થાય એ શૈલેષભાઈએ સ્કોરશીપ માટેની તૈયારી કરાવીને પ્રેમ એમાં સારા ગુણ સાથે પાસ થયો.

સ્કોલરશીપ મળવાની શરૃ થતા પ્રેમની માતાને ઘરમાં નિરાંત થઈ ગઈ.

વર્ષો પહેલાં સરકારી શાળામાં મધ્યાનભોજન પણ આવા જ શુભઆશય સાથે શરૃ થયેલું ને મધ્યાનભોજનના કારણે દેશભરમાં અસંખ્ય વિદ્યાર્થીઓ ભણ્યા.. આવો જ શુભ વિચાર સ્કોલરશીપનો છે..

A thought of School put a smile on her face

Small Kundal Village of Gadhadaa Taluka of Botaad District. The village is relatively large. A small girl, Aruni, live in this big village. Whosoever would see Aruni, would be attracted by her charms. Death of his father took away father's love from the life of little darling Aruni. The mother could have filled that position but left Aruni. She remarried and settled in another home. Doting grandparents are right there, but grandpa is blind and grandma's weak and old shoulders have to carry burden of the house. To carry the load of the house, grandmother used to fill the garbage bag with plastic waste and carried the load of the bag on her shoulders. Grandma could not pick up waste in good quantity, so Aruni also went along to help. In cold and heat, she would pick up garbage plastic etc. with her tiny little hands and put it in a bag. They would get food when waste of the bag was sold. And can you imagine how much they could

  get to eat? One meal a day, and sometimes two meals a day, and that too, after lapse of many days. One day Asmitaben noticed Aruni who was picking garbage. Asmitaben is Dr. K. R. Shroff Foundation's Teacher. Foundation fills the shortage of teachers in primary schools. These teachers take special care of unprivileged and uneducated children so that they can attend school. As soon as such a child is seen in the village, teacher helps him/her as much as possible to get him/her admitted to school. Asmitaben did the same. She inspired her to study, provided beautiful clothes

and arranged good food. Grandparents were happy and Aruni was also very happy. She was admitted to study in primary school in Gadhadaa. Aruni, in beginning, did not know how to read and write, but attended school regularly. As a result of Aruni's eagerness to study and Asmitaben's hard work, she learned to read, write and became bright and intelligent in no time. Aruni now studies in third standard. Aruni's own passion and the warmth of the foundation have opened new doors for her in the world, allowing her to soar.

બોટાદ જિલ્લાના ગઢડા તાલુકાનું નાનું કુંડળ ગામ. ગામ પ્રમાણમાં મોટું. આ મોટા ગામમાં નાનકડી દીકરી રહે. નામ એનું અરુણી.

અરુણીને આપણે જોઈએ અને વહાલ કરવાનું મન થાય. વહાલી અને નાનકડી અરુણીએ પિતાનું વહાલ ગુમાવ્યું. વહાલ કરી શકે એવી માએ અરુણીને છોડીને બીજે ઘર કર્યું.

વહાલ કરવાવાળાં દાદા-દાદી ખરાં, દાદા અંધ અને દાદીના ઘરડા ખભા પર ઘરનો ભાર. ઘરનો ભાર ઉઠાવવા માટે દાદી કચરો કોથળામાં ભરી કોથળાનો ભાર ખભે ઉપાડે. દાદીથી ઝાઝો કચરો વિણાય નહીં એટલે અરુણી પણ સાથે જાય. નાના નાના હાથથી ટાઢ, તડકો વેઠતી કચરો વીણે અને કોથળામાં નાખે. કોથળાનો કચરો વેચાય એમાંથી ઘરનું ખાવાનું થાય. ખાવાનું પણ કેટલું?

એક ટંક રોજનું, અને દિવસો જાય ત્યારે બે ટંકનું થાય.

એક દિવસ કચરો વીણતી અરુણી પર અસ્મિતા બહેનનું ધ્યાન ગયું. અસ્મિતાબહેન ડૉ. કે. આર. શ્રોફ ફાઉન્ડેશનનાં શિક્ષક. ફાઉન્ડેશનનાં શિક્ષકો પ્રાથમિકશાળામાં શિક્ષકોની ઘટ પૂરી કરવાનનું કરે. ઘટપૂર્તિ કરવાવાળાં શિક્ષકો ન ભણી શકતાં વંચિત બાળકો શાળામાં આવે એનું ખાસ ધ્યાન રાખે. ગામમાં આવું કોઈ બાળક દેખાય કે તરત એને બનતી મદદ કરી શાળામાં પ્રવેશ અપાવવાનું કરે. અસ્મિતા બહેને એ જ કર્યું. અમણે અરુણીને ભણવા માટે પ્રેરણા આપી, સુંદર કપડાંની સુવિધા કરી આપી, સરસ ભોજનની વ્યવસ્થા કરી આપી. દાદા-દાદી ખુશ અને અરુણી તો રાજી-રાજી.

અરુણીને ગઢડાની પ્રાથમિક શાળામાં ભણવા બેસાડી. અરુણીને લખતા-વાંચતા આવડતું નહીં, પણ શાળામાં નિયમિત આવે. અરુણીને ભણવાની હોંશ અને અસ્મિતાબહેનની મહેનતના પરિણામે અરુણી વાંચતાં-લખતાં શીખી ગઈ અને હોશિયાર પણ થઈ ગઈ. અરુણી ત્રીજા ધોરણમાં ભણે છે.

અરુણીની પોતાની ધગશ અને ફાઉન્ડેશનની હૂંફ એ તેના માટે દુનિયામાં બીજા નવા બારણાં ખોલ્યાહવે તેને ઉડવા આકહ મોકળુ છે.

Dream to Reality: When A child's Role Model Is his/her Own Mother, no one can stops it.

“I want to become a teacher.” Jagurti, studying in the seventh standard, disclosed her dream.

''Why teacher?''

'My mother was a teacher'.

After hearing that, I realized that Jagruti's mother was no more. After her mother’s death, her father

remarried. Although the new mother also takes care of Jagruti, the memories of her mother are still

intact in Jagruti's mind. She has decided to become a teacher, just like her mother!

Jagruti's father has small farming. As also, not everyone in the tribal area has a huge piece of land. Also,

since there is no much water in a small piece of land, the father has to migrate to the city for work.

Jagruti is bright in learning. Dr. K. R. Shroff Foundation conducts the scholarship program and if she gets the scholarship, her education would be guaranteed and the family would also get financial

With this aim, our Foundation teacher Chetanaben, who is placed in the Teblaa primary school of

Sabarkantha, worked hard to have Jagruti pass the scholarship exam.

Where the economic condition is poor, families educate their children to a certain extent. Once they are helpless and tired, they ask their children to give up their studies and make the children work. But if such children get a monthly support of 1000 per month, the parents would not give up their children's education because of the temptation of the scholarship. This is the purpose of our Scholarship program.

So far Foundation has given monthly scholarships to 162 children. Every child should pass the yearly

examination conducted by the foundation for this scholarship to continue year after year. This is how a child is tempted to study diligently and reach a desired destination.

Chetnaben prepared Jagurti well and she passed exam. Now she gets scholarship regularly. Jagurti's new mother and dad are all happy with her. They wish that their daughter may study well and fulfill her

mother's dream.

Chetnaben worked hard for Jagruti. She says, ''The fundamental principle of the foundation is 'child

first'. If you think only of child's welfare, then why to fall back? I am happy to see Jagruti's progress!''

Distinguished Pratulbhai Shroff goes to homes of every child like Jagurti and teachers like Chetnaben

and meet them, specially to encourage them more and more. We wish every child in the world be happy and healthy.

વાસ્તવિકતાનું સ્વપ્ન: જ્યારે બાળકનું રોલ મોડેલ તેની પોતાની માતા હોય, ત્યારે તેને કોઈ રોકી શકતું નથી.

'મારે શિક્ષક બનવું છે...' સાતમાં ધોરણમાં ભણતી જાગૃતિએ પોતાનું સ્વપ્ન કહ્યું.

'કેમ શિક્ષક?'

'મારી મા શિક્ષક હતી.'

આ સાંભળી જાગૃતિની મા ન હોવાનો ખ્યાલ આવ્યો. મા મૃત્યુ પામી પછી પિતાએ બીજા લગ્ન કર્યા. નવી મા પણ જાગૃતિનું ધ્યાન રાખે છતાં પોતાની મા સાથેના સંસ્મરણો જાગૃતિના મનમાં અકબંધ એટલે માની જેમ શિક્ષક બનવાનું એણે નક્કી કર્યું.

જાગૃતિના પિતા નાનકડી ખેતી કરે. આમ પણ આદિવાસી વિસ્તારમાં દરેક પાસે કાંઈ મસમોટી જમીન ન હોય. વળી નાની જમીનમાંય પાણી ન હોય એટલે પિતા કામ ધંધા માટે શહેરમાં સ્થળાંતર કરે.

જાગૃતિ ભણવામાં હોંશિયાર. એને ડો.કે.આર.શ્રોફ ફાઉન્ડેશન સ્કોરશીપ પ્રોગ્રામ ચલાવે તે સ્કોરશીપ મળી જાય તો એના ભણતરનું રક્ષણ થાય ને પરિવારને પણ ટેકો થાય. આ આશયથી ફાઉન્ડેશનના સાબરકાંઠાની ટેબલા પ્રાથમિકશાળામાં મુકાયેલા અમારા શિક્ષક ચેતનાબહેને જાગૃતિને સ્કોરશીપ પરીક્ષા પાસ કરાવવા મહેનત આદરી.

આર્થિક સ્થિતિ નબળી હોય ત્યાં પરિવારો બાળકોને એક હદ સુધી ભણાવે પણ થાકે ત્યારે ભણતર છોડાવી બાળકોને કામે લગાડી દે.પણ આવા બાળકોને સ્કોરશીપ એટલે માસીક 1000નો ટેકો મળતો થાય તો મા- બાપ સ્કોરશીપની લાલચે પણ બાળકોનું ભણતર ન છોડાવે. આ અમારા સ્કોરશીપ કાર્યક્રમનો હેતુ.

ફાઉન્ડેશન થકી અત્યાર સુધી 162 બાળકોને માસીક સ્કોલરશીપ આપવામાં આવી છે. વળી આ સ્કોલરશીપ વર્ષો વર્ષ ચાલુ રહે તે માટે દરેક બાળકે ફાઉન્ડેશન દ્વારા લેવાતી પરીક્ષા દર વર્ષે પાસ કરવાની. આમ બાળક લગન સાથે ભણે ને એક મુકામ પર પહોંચે.

જાગૃતિને ચેતનાબહેને તૈયારી કરાવી ને એ પાસ થઈ. હવે નિયમીત એને સ્કોરશીપ મળે. જાગૃતિની નવી મા અને પિતા બધા જ એનાથી રાજી છે. એમની ઈચ્છા પોતાની દીકરી ખુબ ભણે ને એની માતાનું સ્વપ્ન પૂર્ણ કરે તેવી.

ચેતનાબહેને જાગૃતિ પાછળ ઘણી મહેનત કરી. એ કહે, 'ફાઉન્ડેશનનું મુખ્યસુત્ર પ્રથમ બાળક. એના કલ્યાણ માટે જ વિચારવાનું છે તો પછી પાછી કેમ પડું. જાગૃતિની પ્રગતિ જોઈને હું ખુશ છું.'

આદરણીય પ્રતુલભાઈ શ્રોફ જાગૃતિ જેવા બાળકો તેમજ ચેતના બહેન જેવા શિક્ષકો વધારે પ્રોત્સાહીત થાય તે માટે ખાસ તેમના ઘરે જાય, તેમને મળે જેથી તેમને પણ પ્રોત્સાહન મળે..
