Shri Pratulbhai visited at Dodhanwadi school

Every child leaves the cradle, loses the contact with father's finger and comes in contact with the real world for the first time through school. After parents, child starts seeing the world through the eyes of the teacher. That's why Guru is considered as Parabrahm(Supreme Brahman) in our culture. Dr. K. R. Shroff Foundation caters to the vacancies of teachers in various government schools. We provide special training to the chosen teachers. For us, child is the first priority. That is why our teachers are trained in a way that they quickly find the children who are quiet in classroom for no reason or in some trouble and work on them to solve their problems.
Shailendrabhai teaches Mathematics and English at Dodhanwadi Primary School in Sagbara Taluka. One day in his fourth grade class, Rohan was trying to solve the text on the blackboard using his thumb and finger because he had no glasses on. He asked Rohan to go back home and get the glasses. Rohan said, his glasses are broken. If the parents, who work in agriculture, go to Selamba to get glasses, apart from cost of glasses, it will cost them a return bus fare and a loss of one day's wages as well. Rohan said that he will get glasses when his dad would go to that side. Shailendrabhai thought it was not right that the child's eyes may get damaged and he should not miss his education for so long. He went to Selamba which is 20km away and fixed the glasses. The next day in class, Rohan's eyes were straining and he was having trouble reading. Shailendrabhai was not sure why there was problem when the glasses are new. He thought that probably the eyes' power numbers might have gone up. Later, he came to know that there is going to be an eye examination camp 5 km away from the school. Then what? Shailendrabhai took permission of the school principal and got Rohan to eye camp. Based on the eye examination, the doctor diagnosed that child has cataract and he needs to be operated and hospitalized.

He will have to go to Mandavi for that purpose. And if he has a Maa Vatsalya card, the expenses will be covered under the government scheme. Shailendrabhai conveyed this information to Rohan's parents. But his parents were scared of the operation. There was again a problem of medical fees. They didn't even have a Maa Vatsalya card. Shailendrabhai consoled them and assured them about the expenses too. With the help of his friend Sagar Vasava, working in the Civil Hospital, he immediately secured a Vatsalya card. The next day he took Rohan to Mandvi on his motorbike. Rohan was successfully operated. He took care of Rohan even after the operation. Now Rohan has healthy eyes and can see very well. When a teacher really feels for his student, he finds a way to emotionally support his student.
Shailendrabhai fulfilled the concept of ''child first'' by looking after the child without worrying about money and time.
When Pratulbhai, the founder of our organization, visited the school in Dodhanwadi village, he
especially complemented the efforts of Shailendrabhai. Right from the Principal of Dodhanwadi School to the teachers, everybody considers having KRSF's Shailendrabhai with them as blessings. Shailendrabhai handles all classes of one standard. Teachers and children of the school expressed their gratitude towards the institution when Pratulbhai visited the school.

શિક્ષક માત્ર ધ્યાનમાં જ નહીં પરંતુ દરેક વિદ્યાર્થીને પોતાના બાળકની જેમ સાચવે

બાળક માનો પાલવ અને પિતાની આંગળી છોડી પહેલીવાર અન્ય જગતના સંપર્કમાં શાળાના માધ્યમથી આવે. માતા પિતા પછી શિક્ષકની નજરે બાળક દુનિયા જોવાનું શરૃ કરે માટે જ ગુરુને પરબ્રહ્મની ઉપમા આપવામાં આવી છે. ડો.કે.આર.શ્રોફ. ફાઉન્ડેશન વિવિધ સરકારી શાળાઓમાં શિક્ષકોની ઘટની પૂર્તી કરે. અમે ઘટપૂર્તી માટે જે શિક્ષકો પસંદ કરીએ તેની વિશેષ તાલીમ કરીએ. જેમાં બાળક પ્રથમની વાત અમે સૌ પ્રથમ શીખવીએ. 

એટલે જ અમારા શિક્ષકો વર્ગખંડમાં સુનમુન રહેતા કે કાંઈક તકલીફમાં હોય તેવા બાળકોને ઝડપથી શોધી તેની તકલીફના નિવારણ માટે કાર્ય કરે. 

શૈલેન્દ્રભાઈ સાગબારા તાલુકાની દોધનવાડી પ્રાથમિક શાળામાં ગણિત અને અંગ્રેજી વિષય ભણાવે છે. એકદિવસ તેમના ચોથા ધોરણના વર્ગમાં રોહન પોતાના હાથના અંગુઠા અને આંગળીની મદદથી બ્લેકબોર્ડ પરનું લખાણ ઉકેલવાનો પ્રયાસ કરી રહ્યો હતો કારણકે તે ચશ્મા પહેરીને આવ્યો ન હતો. તેને ઘેર પરત જઈ ચશ્માં લાવવાનું કહ્યું. તેના કહેવા મુજબ તેના ચશ્માં તૂટી ગયાં છે. ખેતમજુરી કરતા માબાપ સેલંબા ચશ્મા લેવા જાય તો આવવા-જવાનું ભાડું થાય અને એક દિવસનું મજુરીનું નુકસાન. પપ્પા એ બાજુ જશે ત્યારે લાવશે એવું રોહને કહ્યું. બાળકની આંખ અને એટલા દિવસ એના શિક્ષણનું નુકસાન થાય તે શૈલેન્દ્રભાઈને યોગ્ય ન લાગ્યું. તેઓ ૨૦ કી.મી. દુર સેલંબા ગયા અને બાળકની ફ્રેમમાં ચશ્માંના કાચ નંખાવ્યા. 

બીજા દિવસે વર્ગમાં રોહનની આંખો ખેંચાતી હતી અને વાંચવામાં તકલીફ પડતી હતી. શૈલેન્દ્રભાઈને નવાઈ લાગી કે ચશ્માં તો નવાં છે પછી પણ તકલીફ કેમ? થોડું વિચારતા લાગ્યું કે ચશ્માંના નંબર વધી ગયા હોય એ શક્ય છે. તેમને જાણવા મળ્યું કે શાળાથી 5 km દુર આંખોની તપાસણી માટેનો કેમ્પ થવાનો છે, પછી તો શું શૈલેન્દ્રભાઈ શાળાના આચાર્યની અનુમતિ લઈ રોહનને ત્યાં લઇ ગયા ત્યારે આંખની તપાસના આધારે ડોક્ટરે જણાવ્યું કે આ બાળકને તો મોતિયો છે અને તેનું ઓપરેશન કરાવવું પડશે અને એ માટે માંડવી જવું પડશે. મા વાત્સલ્ય કાર્ડ હશે તો ખર્ચ સરકારની યોજના અંતર્ગત મળશે.

શૈલેન્દ્રભાઈએ રોહનના માતા-પિતાને આ વાત કરી. પણ તેના માતાપિતા ઓપરેશનથી ડરતા હતા. ખર્ચનો પ્રશ્ન તો ખરો જ. તેમની પાસે મા વાત્સલ્ય કાર્ડ પણ ન હતું. શૈલેન્દ્રભાઈએ તેમને સમજાવ્યા અને ખર્ચનો પણ ભરોસો આપ્યો. તેમણે સીવીલ હોસ્પીટલમાં કાર્યરત પોતાના મિત્ર સાગર વસાવાની મદદથી તાત્કાલિક મા વાત્સલ્ય કાર્ડ કઢાવ્યું. બીજે દિવસે તેઓ પોતાની બાઈક પર રોહનને માંડવી લઇ ગયા અને સફળતાપૂર્વક રોહનનું ઓપરેશન થયું. ઓપરેશન પછી પણ તેની કાળજી રાખી. અત્યારે રોહન ખુબ સારી રીતે જોઈ શકે છે. આ છે શિક્ષકની સંવેદના. શૈલેન્દ્રભાઈએ પૈસાની અને સમયની ચિંતા કર્યા વિના પહેલાં બાળકને દેખતો કરીને બાળક પ્રથમની સંકલ્પના સાકાર કરી. 

અમારી સંસ્થાના સ્થાપક પ્રતુલભાઈ દોધનવાડી ગામની શાળાની મુલાકાતે ગયા ત્યારે ખાસ શૈલેન્દ્રભાઈના પ્રયાસને એમણે બીરદાવ્યો. 

દોધનવાડી શાળાના આચાર્યથી લઈને શિક્ષકોને KRSF માંથી શૈલેન્દ્રભાઈ મળવાથી ઘણી રાહત. એક આખુ ધો.શૈલેન્દ્રભાઈ સંભાળે. પ્રતુલભાઈ એમની શાળાની મુલાકાતે ગયા ત્યારે શાળાના શિક્ષકો અને બાળકોએ સંસ્થા પ્રત્યે કૃતજ્ઞતાભાવ વ્યક્ત કર્યો.

દેશના દરેક બાળકને ગુણવત્તા સભર શિક્ષણ મળે તેવી અભર્થના સાથે અમે 50,000 બાળકોને શિક્ષણ આપવામાં નિમિત્ત બનીએ તેનો રાજીપો.
