Personal Attention of a teacher can help a child to go to school without affected from family situation

His father was jailed when Kishan was five years old. Kishan was seven years old when his mother

left him and got married elsewhere. Kishan and his sister stayed with their grandparents. Grandparents

bore the responsibility of raising two children in cascading age. Little Kishan was not lucky to enjoy

motherly and fatherly love, he was thirsty for it. He was growing up but under no one's care. When he turned six years, he was enrolled in school. But who will check his regularity of going to school? Kishan's elder sister was also studying but she could not pay enough attention to Kishan. Nobody took notice of his existence. His loved ones could not take enough care to raise him. He could not even read and write.

This is a story of Kishan and his teachers. Kishan, who was studying in the primary school of Taralfalo village of Khedbrahma in Sabarkantha district. There was shortage of teachers in the primary school of Taralafalo. Pankajbhai, principal of the school, put forward a request before Dr. K. R. Shroff Foundation to fill the shortage of teachers. Foundation appointed Rajeshbhai as a teacher in the school.

As a student in fourth standard, Kishan was irregular. Finally, Rajeshbhai decided to go to Kishan's house and he went there. He grasped the situation. Kishan had no interest in studying.

Rajeshbhai convinced him and got him to school. Acharya Pankajbhai showered him with his warmth.

What good could happen was explained to him and Rajeshbhai paid more attention to Kishan in the

class. He was afraid of English and math subjects. He taught him these subjects with parental love. Now, Kishan loves school. He doesn't like a day off anymore. He can now speak small sentences in English.

There must be several children like Kishan in thousands of schools in the country. They refrain from going to school due to fear or some circumstances. Their lives will be reformed if school teachers find such children and bring them to school.

These days Kishan has started pursuing his dream of becoming a policeman. Importance is of the

contribution of the foundation and the school to nourish that dream. Teachers understand the concept of ''Child First'' of our founder trustee, Shri Pratulbhai Shroff. That's the reason teachers took care of Kishan.. If the ''Child First'' becomes the dream of every school teacher, not a single child will be alienated from school.

કીશન પાંચ વર્ષનો હતો ત્યારે પિતાને જેલ થઈ. કિશન સાત વર્ષનો થયો ને મા એને છોડીને બીજે પરણી ગઈ. કીશન એની મોટી બહેન ને દાદા, દાદી સાથે રહી પડ્યો. દાદા-દાદીને પણ ઢળતી ઉંમરે બે બાળકોને ઉછેરવાની જવાબદારી આવી.  કીશન નાનકડો એને તો મા અને પિતા બેયનો પ્રેમ જોઈયે પણ એના નસીબમાં એ નહોતો. એ મોટો થઈ રહ્યો હતો પણ કોઈની દેખભાળ વગર.

એ છ વર્ષનો થયો અને એનું નામ નિશાળમાં લખાવ્યું. પણ નિશાળમાં જવાની એની નિયમિતતાની ચકાસણી કોણ કરે? કીશનની મોટી બહેન ભણે પણ એનુંયે ધ્યાન કીશન પર નહીં.

કીશનનું અસ્તિત્વ ખરુ પણ એના પ્રિયજનો એને મોટો કરવામાં એની રાખવી જોઈએ એ દરકાર ન રાખી શક્યા.  કીશનને સરખુ વાંચતા - લખતા પણ ન આવડે. વાત છે સાબરકાંઠાના ખેડબ્રહ્માના તરાળફળો ગામની પ્રાથમીકશાળામાં ભણતા કિશન અને એના શિક્ષકોની..

તરાળફળોની પ્રાથમિકશાળામાં શિક્ષકોની ઘટ. ડો.કે.આર.શ્રોફ ફાઉન્ડેશનને શાળાના આચાર્ય પંકજભાઈએ શિક્ષકની ઘટ પૂર્તી માટે રજૂઆત કરી. ને રાજેશભાઈને ફાઉન્ડેશને શાળામાં શિક્ષક તરીકે મુક્યા.

ચોથા ધોરણમાં કીશન નામના વિદ્યાર્થી અનિયમીત. આખરે એમણે કીશનના ઘરે જવાનું નક્કી કર્યું એ કીશનના ઘરે ગયા. સ્થિતિ જાણી. કીશનની ભણવામાં કોઈ રુચી નહીં. 

રાજેશભાઈએ કીશનને સમજાવ્યો ને નિશાળ લઈ આવ્યા. આચાર્ય પંકજભાઈએ એને હૂંફ આપી. ભણીએ તો શું બની શકાય તે સમજાવ્યું ને રાજેશભાઈએ વર્ગમાં કિશન પર વધારે ધ્યાન આપ્યું. એને અંગ્રેજી, ગણીત વિષયથી બીક લાગતી. આ વિષયો એમણે કીશનને ખોળામાં બેસાડીને શીખવ્યા.

હવે કીશનને નિશાળ ગમવા માંડી. એક દિવસની રજા એને હવે ગમતી નથી. અંગ્રેજીમાં એ હવે નાના નાના વાક્યો બનાવીને બોલવા માંડ્યો છે.

દેશની હજારો નિશાળમાં કીશન જેવા કેટલાય બાળકો હશે. જે ડરના માર્યા કે કોઈ સંજોગોના કારણે નિશાળ જવાનું માંડી વાળે છે. આવા બાળકોને શાળાના શિક્ષકો શોધી, શાળા સુધી લઈ આવવાનું કરે તો તેમની જીંદગી સુધરી જાય.

આજે કીશન પોતાને પોલીસ બનવું છે એવું સ્વપ્ન સેવવા માંડ્યો છે.. જેમાં ફાઉન્ડેશનનો ને શાળાનો ફાળો મહત્વનો છે.અમારા ફાઉન્ડેશનના સ્થાપક પ્રતુલભાઈ શ્રોફનું 'બાળક પ્રથમ'નું સુત્ર અમારા શિક્ષકો સમજે. એટલે જ એમણે કીશનની ભાળ કાઢી.. બસ 'બાળક પ્રથમ' એ દરેક શાળાના શિક્ષકનું સ્વપ્ન બને તો એક પણ બાળક શાળાથી વિમુખ નહીં થાય એ નક્કી....
